I always wanted a sequel to The Crazies. Preferably to the Eisner remake but I could live with a sequel to the Romero original!
Not technically apocalyptic, though on the crazies regionally apocalyptic, because they don’t want to spread. In the original, the government created the plague, and somehow It got released into the community
28 days later is amazing
Not on the list, but The Road really got me. It’s so bleak. And the book is worse.
Don't know how, but I knew Ellie would be the presenter before I even hit play. Lol!!
On The Beach was the best.
At 12:03 the guy being hit is the same in the first one. he is part of it.
I Would Put Dawn Of The Dead Remake And I'am Legend
Did you not understand the ending of "28 Days Later"? They see the plane fly overhead, meaning they realize the outbreak is localized to the UK and the rest of the world is carrying on as usual. That's hardly "apocalyptic"…
A quiet place is shit and the boy deserved to die.
Eurgh…….a quiet place…….AGAIN
Forgot the faculty
28 days later is a masterpiece- it goes beyond just the horror genre, scoring highly on a chart of all film regardless of genre.
A lesser known film The Domestics is a solid apocalyptic film.
These Finals Hours is missing.
The Quiet Earth – a 1985 New Zealand film had a compelling premise. I liked it when I saw it years ago but haven't seen it since around 1987. Don't know how it's held up.
I went to the theater to see 28 Days later with my girlfriend at that time right around it’s release date and we were only 2 of not even 10 people in the theater. We both loved it, but I was surprised that there weren’t more people waiting to see it.
The 2010 remake of The Crazies is good, but the original is so much more interesting, and a better look a an apocalypse from within the horror genre. Otherwise, this list is all bangers and dead on.
i thought the silence, bird box, and world war z would be good additions to this list as well
I would add Stake Land. I loved that movie and it rarely gets any attention.
Knock At The Cabin
I would add Carriers
Never heard of no blade of grass but I love Cornell Wilde so I will watch it.
I was an extra on the day after.
Donald Sutherland’s shriek. Talk about hopelessness.
The Road
I saw threads when it came out …. that movie never leaves you
The Wandering Earth is really good, it's from China and not many people have seen it but it's worth watching. There's a sequel that picks up where the first movie ends, I haven't seen it yet but I will. The story is about the sun going nova so the entire planet has to be moved to another solar system but gets sucked into Saturn's gravity as they try to slingshot around it.
LOVE The Crazies! Everyone in it is great and the behaviour of people is accurate (esp having lived through a pandemic)

Also, I don't think we give Sam Neil the credit he deserves. He has been in some amazing movies and he's always fantastic.

No Omega Man?
The Road and The Divide need a place
I’m surprised Dawn of the Dead and/or Night of the Living Dead aren’t on this list
where's the scene of the thumbnail?
The Crazies (2010) was great. Very stressful.
Great list, but you missed one…Knowing starring Nicolas Cage. It's a brilliant piece.
I love post-apocalyptica
I think she left a snail trail to the bathroom and vigorously rubbed one out.
Definitely agree with Ellie on The Crazies and you Definitely have to add The Omega Man on this list
10 Cloverfield Lane should sit near the top. Great great great….PROPER sequel please
Children of Men definitely
I don't care what anyone says I thought Cabin in the Woods was good and original and I wasn't upset with that apocalyptic ending 😆 haha
I'd forgotten all about pulse. I've seen the remake but not the original I just remember the ending when the survivors are driving out of the city and all of the dead are just watching them from the windows it was creepy as hell.
Missing 'the day after', cant forget the guttenburg
