EPISODE 128
We didn’t just add a new facility to the channel, we added our very first institution dedicated to research and rescue. Though the Clearwater Marine Aquarium rose to international fame thank to the beloved film, Dolphin Tale, staff at the CMA has actually been changing lives since 1972. Since then, their uncompromising model has been RESCUE. REHABILITATION. RELEASE. So don’t expect to see your typical aquarium, expect to see sick and injured wildlife who were given a second and sometimes third chance at life and in turn, expect to be inspired! This episode explores the CMA’s first half and personally shares the sad but triumphant stories of the aquarium’s world famous bottlenose dolphins, equally charismatic otters, sea turtles, pelicans, and of course, this episode closes out with a tribute to Winter the dolphin.
Enjoy!

Nice!
Nice
Such a good video! Keep up the amazing content!
That was Beautiful, it made me even cry😢, I am very glad along with winter the dolphins were brought to the aquarium to get a second chance.
This video is amazing! Answering the question, my favorite rescue story definitely has to be J.J. The gray whale that SeaWorld San Diego rescued and released. J.J.’s story is just too beautiful. Keep up the great work!
That new manatee area looks nice, hope they add a memorial plaque for Winter.
Winter story is beautiful rip 😢😢❤
Finally coming down to Tampa lol
Honestly gotta give it to Winter for favorite rescue story.
I remember seeing both movies so many times when I was younger and fell in love with her, and always had a dream of meeting her.
I got my chance when I went to Clearwater for the first time a couple years ago, just chilling on her mat.
And honestly it was amazing to see this extraordinary animal in person even getting to hold a version of her tail. I’ll never forget getting to see her.
And her story was the sweetest and full of hope literally too.
She’s an extraordinary animal and her memory will live on, and I’m happy she’s whole now and having tons of fun I know it!
Anyone who's been to the National Aquarium knows about their most famous rescue, Calypso the green sea turtle. Her front left flipper had to be amputated due to an infection she was suffering from while stranded in the Long Island Sound, but for 20 years she was the aquarium's most famous resident before dying suddenly in February 2020.
Also, fun fact I went to this place back in July 2021
Always a good day when Zoo Tours post.
I love your tours. I really thought Winter’s story was really sad. But I also loved how talked about the turtles and otters. I also have three questions.
1. How would you compare SeaWorld Orlando to SeaWorld San Diego?
2. What is your favorite Jacksonville Zoo section and why?
3. What is your opinion on ZooAtlanta's Asian Forest?
winter story is so inspiring. i can’t believe it been a year
CMA is awesome! I have always wanted to go there.
I’m surprised that the aquarium has improved. But I’m sad that Winter died this very month from last year. I wish she was giving medication for this intestinal infection or something.
I like that guy who plays the violin outside and the foxes line up to hear him play
It’s very nice to see how this place looks more recently, I visited before they built the new dolphin home so I did get to see Winter, excited to see if the rest of the place looks how it was when I visited years back
Thank you!
You should show Izzy next
Great video as always, love how in depth you get with each of the animals, perhaps more than ever before. Would you consider coming back again for the Manatee Springs?
🎵🎶Under the sea, under the sea🎵🎶Down here in the aquarium where it's awesome! Take it for me🎵🎶 Try visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium & Disney's Animal Kingdom soon! Plus, 3 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend, Zak…
1) What is the name of the orphaned black bear cub that the Oakland Zoo rescued in Lake Tahoe before he was euthanized?
2) What animal did the SF Zoo once bred back in 2004 to 2006?
3) What sea animal did SeaWorld San Diego once bred when the sea turtles moved in?
Bubbling Elasmosaurus!🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
My favorite rescue animal is Rose the Manatee. She was deemed unable to be released into the wild, and spent most of her life in human care being a foster mother to several orphan manatee calves that were later released to the wild. She also had several calves of her own, contributing to the population
Awesome!
Man, this tour was very moving! I'm glad I got to learn so much about the dolphins that calls Clearwater home, including Winter. I can't wait to see what the next leg of the tour will offer us!
YEEEESSSSSS FINNALLYYYYYYYYY
HA otterbiography lol
“No offense to anyone in their 30s” you had to post this right after my 30th birthday didn’t you? 😂
Beatyfull! I love this channel! 🐬
Busch Gardens next?
I loved this tour!Got to meet Winter and Hope twice, once in 2016 and 2019,also one quick correction,Winter’s tale wasn’t amputated,it fell off as old skin started dying, and what eventually remained was her peduncle.
Thanks so much for showing your audience Clearwater Marine Aquarium!
