Whats the fun in doing add on to help you do the 100 hour fight.
Then I ask what's the fun in running the same thing for 100 hours?
I get the point….I do but I understand the mind of a modder. They don't care enough they just want it done. Give me the thing and on to the next mindless grind.
i use xiv alexander so i can play mach, reaper, nin, and monk. i cannot single weave with out it since my wifi is terrible. i hope it doesnt get banned
Yeah if i was the Cheaters Teammate i would ragequit FF14 faster than you could spell cheater. I get why they did it but still i would not blame theses guys for getting pissed and ragequit the Game. What this does too is pin the player against each other everyone will be suspicious of cheating everywhere let the Paranoia beginn. And Zepla don't do that ACT is fine this makes you look like a hypocrit, ACT is not fine, Chat Bubbles is not fine none of them are fine.
Running the hardest difficulty raids is like asking someone for a 1v1; you gotta honor the 1v1, bro. No cheats, no outside help, no shenanigans… just pure skill against skill; anything else is invalid.
The FFXIV team is so hypocritical. They say to take action against bad behavior of their players but they do nothing to acknowledge their own terrible behavior. They screwed me over and I quit their game. I've boycotted Square Enix for the last two years and I will forever more until they do right by me. So I laughed at them when they talk about their righteousness in taking actions against bad players. Fix your own house first before you talk to us about your bad players.
thats part of what i dont like about FF14 raids is the exceptionally close camera to the point i cant see whats all going on. the camera is very claustrophobia inducing.
dude is likely the hardest working lead in all of game development lol. he rocks pretty hard. the cutscene thing i dont care about. cheating though in a multiplayer game is crap though. they should be banned flat out as the addon thing is known quite well.
This is how it started with world of warcraft way back in the day. People in the original game were against even using consumables and now almost every wow player uses a bunch of addons. People now use so many crutches and demand others in their raid group to do the same. Instead of experiencing the raid and figuring out plans to beat the boss people are expected to watch guides on how others have beaten the content.
How brain dead do some people have to be? We all know that plug-ins and cheating are a thing. But when you go in for the first clear and literally every single pair of eyes on you, this is just asking to get backhanded.
People have enjoyed the "dont ask dont tell" approach to add-ons for the game for a long time. But, like everything else, you give people an inch and they take a mile. People are going to be so mad when they take all that away. But what choice will they have other than to lock it down. People cant just play fairly.
I think its an overeaction, the same shit is in other games and it isnt considered cheating. Now we are going to throw all raiders under the bus? You gonna tell me 1 person could cheat and the rest legit players, expose them and the whole raid team can be considered cheating and rewards removed. Theres a better way im sure.
See I feel like everyone joked about how rain nightclub never got into trouble for the use of copyright and 3rd party tools but then they revoke a clear for world first. So I think they should be more consistent across the board for a no tolerance policy because I feel like that FC deserved to get in trouble yet they didn’t.
I think the "Yoshida allows the use of third party tools so it's ok to use them." is in reference to the community continuously saying, "no you have to read between the lines he's saying they can't detect them so just don't talk about them and it's ok to use" When the reality is, it's not ok to use they aren't allowed period, you just aren't going to get caught probably. It's like speeding. Yeah, you probably won't get caught but you're still breaking the law.
If you need mods to clear content, you don't deserved WF, plain and simple. This whole debacle shows why WF races are so toxic. FF14 is not a compedative game, even PVP is more chaos focussed than min/max. "Hardcore" raiders who can't follow simple rules should just stay within their own groups, and just play for their own enjoyment. Don't go swinging your greatness around when you aren't wearing any pants.
The only third party I care about is changing appearances, which in no way hurts the game in my view, don't know why people can't be satisfied with just that xD Why they gotta try and make yoshi put a damn anti cheat for the sake of "first clears" like play the game legit and clear that shit, it's made hard for a reason.
to be fair to the user of the plugin, I really don't feel like the zoom out in this game is adequate enough. I always like to zoom out as much as possible in RPGS like xenoblade for example, and I feel cockblocked by 14s camera all the time lol.
The reason why people can't understand why other use 3rd party tools or cheats of any kind is because of a disillusion and self centered thinking. The problem is the design of inclusion. People just want to participate. With that said not everyone has the money for a computer or gaming system cabable of competing. These same people probably don't have good internet service. As a person that falls into this catagory I can tell you that you are just out. You can't participate in what your peers are doing. I was demoted within FC and stripped of all my ability to help other people and the FC simply because I am unable to participate in these things. I helped the FC leader and others in the FC get thier wins while lagging all to hell, but their is no reward for me or people like me. What these people are doing by cheating sucks. I would never do that. However, I am an introvert and don't need to be included. This will be different from extroverts that have a strong desire for inclusion. I have a friend that uses cheats all the time on games like WoW. It's the nature of the beast. He can't afford a decent PC, but he can download cheats and hacks for free. So in conclusion, while I do not agree with people doing this, I do understand that they feel a need to be a part of something that so many simply take for granted as if everyone around them has the ability and the means to do all the same things they do. So while I respect the fact that people have thier opinions on this, I simply can not respect the individual who would openly disparage someone because they are ignorant to the daily hardships of everyday lives of the people around them, when it is blatantly in front of their eyes if they would simply stop looking on themselves for a minute and open them up to others.
Sigh Why can't we just be happy with regular ACT..? At least you can use that as a self-improvement tool :… Sure, it's 3rd-party, but unless you're using it to DPS-shame, it's pretty inert.
About the 1% Ultimate clear, all content other than msq in ffxiv has a relevancy expiration date because connectivity issues. Most older content have no connection to current content, thus the average casual player won't bother. Just example, let's take the relic weapon. Instead of each relic having its own story, what is all relics stemmed from ARR relic. How many more people would have Zetas? Would it be good for the overall health of the game to try to make everything have connectivity? Who knows. But it would definitely lead to more people doing older content.
I find it ironic that people complain about wanting harder content. But when given hard content, they cheat. My friend was one of these people, complain that everything is too easy, then used a bunch of add ons to cheat in ultimate.
something on the level of deadly boss mods for wow is fine imo, auto marker would fall into that category. things that flat out just tell you where to go are not ok even on wow the devs ban those addons. someone using something that reminds them they are standing in something and need to move is different than flat out telling you where to go and where to stand for everything,
Technically by the way the rules are written ACT and GShade are not ok. The question is how far will things be punished and can SE know you are using it. From what I understand they do not have sniffers in the software to see what an individual is running but we do not know for absolute certain. It is entirely possible as these situations keep arising they might take steps to know what individuals are running.
I am not a raider. I have no need for addons in my game so I do not use any at all. Everyone has to find their own opinion on it and what their acceptable level of risk is.
I've only ever messed around with cosmetic mods for a bit. It was just a bit of fun that nobody else could even SEE on their end. I've since stopped since it started causing some graphical issues for me, but I still know of people who use them. They're harmless.
But that's a far cry from using something solely to give yourself a "hidden edge".
I would prefer that they don't get banned but that their characters are forced to have a pink CHEATER title above their names without being able to change the title. They could still play any time they want. But everyone would know they are cheaters.
Hey Zepla just wanted to say, thanks so much for holding the line on these sorts of things. I think you’re always very balanced and thoughtful, but still clear with what you believe is right and wrong about these issues. (You also make it funny when you can and tell people to loosen up which is great.) Just wanted to express my appreciation; I really value what you have to say about ffxiv.
I hate how every youtuber is showing the hacks again on screen again and again.
This will only lead to hacks actually getting more widespread
Idk I can see the fight both way
Whats the fun in doing add on to help you do the 100 hour fight.

All these hackers using the lalafell pov
Yeah if i was the Cheaters Teammate i would ragequit FF14 faster than you could spell cheater. I get why they did it but still i would not blame theses guys for getting pissed and ragequit the Game. Thank you. I'm so glad you're on here. And not where I am…. the hours of content helps… it's fine!

The homie yoshi is a good man…..and yall taking advantage of his kindness…..
The only third party tools I know of being allowed, are the Bard tools for playing music. More aesthetic, not game breaking.
How brain dead do some people have to be? We all know that plug-ins and cheating are a thing. But when you go in for the first clear and literally every single pair of eyes on you, this is just asking to get backhanded.
i feel like next time they gonna add something to the game to detect the add-ons and be done with this drama forever
People have enjoyed the "dont ask dont tell" approach to add-ons for the game for a long time. But, like everything else, you give people an inch and they take a mile. People are going to be so mad when they take all that away. But what choice will they have other than to lock it down. People cant just play fairly.
It's not just the camera hack. Yoshi-P HATES dps meters too, as he hates the gatekeeping they represent.
I think asmongold and zepla would be perfect for each other, who else agrees?
So this isn't fine, but MrHappy having a cheater in his group is?
If you can't fight without add-ons, just stick with Island Sanctuary
I think its an overeaction, the same shit is in other games and it isnt considered cheating. Now we are going to throw all raiders under the bus? When did Zepla become a rodeo girl…
You heed your last haw y'all… (clears mob)

It's almost like the people who vie for clout and fame in this way are… pathetic to begin with, and downright worthless if they have to cheat to do it
I think of the addons as being like being able to see the other players cards in a game of poker, so yes it's cheating, ban their butts.
I find it ironic that people complain about wanting harder content. But when given hard content, they cheat. My friend was one of these people, complain that everything is too easy, then used a bunch of add ons to cheat in ultimate.
dude cheating is everywhere? why is this any different?
addons are beloved in ESO and WOW has macros champs, why is this a big deal with FF crowd
something on the level of deadly boss mods for wow is fine imo, auto marker would fall into that category. things that flat out just tell you where to go are not ok even on wow the devs ban those addons. someone using something that reminds them they are standing in something and need to move is different than flat out telling you where to go and where to stand for everything,

So do I need to interview all members of a party now to ensure they ain't cheating?
