  1. Rule #1 about talking about anime online…. Never talk about anime if you avoid it.
Rule# 2 If you have to for whatever reason…. you're gonna have to know a TON of history, the same way you need to know film history, to understand even half of whats happening in a story, the nature of the industry, and the cultural impact.

You think the woke crowd is crazy; when anime fans that are internet facing "think" their niche is being threatened are collectively just as bad, but condenses it into a fraction of a population. For awhile things were starting to mature… but when the Japanese economy started to slide back, it had a direct impact on how anime was produced and targeted; which both had a direct impact on otaku culture as a whole.

More over, the quality of commentary and analysis gets progressively worse the more focused they are on it exclusively. Its a literal mine field, where you can even get over seas harassment for something as minor as calling a show mediocre.

DO NOT TRUST the comments section of any social platform (youtube included), because its going to invite a lot of conflicting information. You guys already know the bad takes in comments about western films, and can dissect the conversations. But imaging going into that blind, and then having anything you say summoning an unrelated audience to come tell you you're wrong in very intense ways.

The difference in culture between East and West is also a huge problem. Especially when it comes to how stories are crafted. Anime that most people refer to in the west are usually western slanted to begin with. But this is skewed significantly by how Japan sees Western society, even though its already partially integrated into modern Japanese society. I point this out, because its going to be a huge focal point for the inevitable dub vs sub war thats gonna happen whenever you talk about stuff that gets exported overseas.

    !!!!!

If you guys actually plan on doing this; You WILL NEED SOMEONE well versed in both Western and Japanese media to guide you through the more important stuff. Because there is 40-80 years of animation history, Japanese history, and the 10 year Nexus of the late 90 to early 2000s that underpins everything associated to that industry to this day. And even cheap shows churned out just for money, can have weird back end ramifications, as the industry itself is pretty small at the moment. Like the weak commercial indie scene thats offers very few opportunities to new talent; causing many to either need help from an already established director or producer to fight on their behalf, or attempt the risky internet route. Talent of any discipline is forced to survive multiple years of video game levels of meat grinder production, just to get the chance to be brushed off by your own production company because they barely have confidence in their big names.

And in the last decade, this caused a huge uprooting of major industry names to start their own studios, just to make projects that are half way interesting. And while many shows made by these groups are wildly popular, they aren't always profitable. Then theres the tie ins to Manga that mirror much of the Hollywood's approach to using books as the main source material for projects off the ground.

I say this not to dissuade…. but to convey deep the water is. Movie audiences are generally detached from the media they consume. But anime fans (east and west) are much more tightly integrated, practically to the point where fan culture is the default, because its still caught in two out dated stigmas of "cartoons are for kids" in the West, and Japan's blind eye approach concerning mental wellness and divergent behavior, which causes a lot of distressed people to use the niche nature of anime as a refuge.

I wish you luck…. because even talking about better known titles that are also popular in the west, can attract some very chaotic attention.

  2. Can we just bring back Gina Carano and stop attacking actors for having opinions? I look at it this way… did they violate the law? Did they violate company policy? Then leave them alone. I don't agree with everyone who plays a character in everything I watch. In fact, I preferred the days when we had no clue what they really thought, but they're people doing a job who should be free to have their own opinions on their own time

In Hollywood? Dude read the talmud and get a clue. Saying "Christ" to the Hollywood elite is literally like holy wayer to a vampire

  7. It's crazy how we've gone from making tweets getting you canceled to liking tweets or even just following someone getting you in trouble. Things must be getting desperate. They're the wannabe Red Guards of Twitter. The Bird Guards. 🐦

  9. I stood up to bullies when I was in irelands version of high school it didn't do anything I was still bullied althroughout high-school even when I fought back. What i learned is high-school was pointless and standing up for yourself doesn't do anything. I grew up with karma what comes around goes around and I'm still waiting.

People should check out what is a woman by Matt Walsh. His channel is great 👍
