  1. I enjoyed the music, and approach. I think using a Looper is highly conducive to capturing the creative moments. It is something I started doing the moment I could afford one, and I definitely recommend it.

I often get creative ideas that aren't fully formed, or I can't play just right. Capturing them with a Looper makes sure they don't vanish back into the unknown to where they immerged.

Perhaps it's worth exploring a "Spontaneous Sundays" video format for creative explorations. I've always got a Looper at the ready. 😎

  2. Very interesting. I always knew that being an ELECTRIC Guitarist you had at least 2 instruments you are utilizing. You are Playing the Guitar and Playing the Amplifier, an interaction between the 2. A Direct in SOUND.

  3. Hardly a clean sound… reverb and compression happening after direct input is not what I would call straight or unadorned. I enjoyed hearing it, but don't try and pretend it's clear or straight. It wouldn't be listensble without those extra bits of processing, but that's why you mostly use them. Electric guitar is not a solo instrument; it requires other instruments to sound good, and that's one of the reasons I enjoy electric… because you can play a part along with others and create something morre than the sum total of its parts. With the exception of a very few ( Stanley Jordan, Joe Pass..) and a few others you aren't going to see much electric BY ITSELF! Thats why acoustic guitars are made. Acoustic instruments are more direct but more complex in their sound, and electrics always require some embellishment either from effects or from combination with other instruments. The fact that you added processing after your input proves this. If you want simple naked unprocessed guitar that sounds good by itself– play acoustic, and all you have to adjust is your playing to compensate for the acoustics of the room.

  4. My guitar into my audio interface definitely does not sound like that! 😮 No wonder I've struggled to get good clean tones on my computer! How do you get those high frequencies? even with new strings I just get a sound like I turned the tone pot all the way down

Btw, listened to your new album on bandcamp together with my son. Very nice!

  6. Just beautiful guitar playing and killer sound! Just sent $5 (or pounds) to you through band camp. I hope that half of your subscribers do the same! Nappies for a year! Thanks again for your wonderful channel. It feels like hanging with a friend when your posts hit! Thank you!

  7. Loved the reduction of processing. There is a homogeneity of YouTube guitar tone and playing (legato overdrive and delay) that is okay, but a bit stale. This was like fresh air. The strat actually sounded like a strat.

  8. Love this style! Love your content! Love your channel! BUT I have one beef… as a Fender player for life, it irks me just a bit to hear you refer to your non-Fender guitar as a Strat or Stratocaster!!! With that said, please do more of this solo clean ambient style content!

  9. Wonderful and soulful. If you want to go one stage further, ever tried micing up an electric guitar with no cable and doing “acoustic”? Yes it can be tinny, but it’s then a matter of vsts afterwards. Ok, ok, it’s nuts!
