I don't think anyone can fully grasp the magnitude of Yoongi releasing his very first mixtape during one of the most turbulent and painful years of BTS history (2015- 2016). Yoongi has been going through so much since his teenage years. I don't even know the kind of courage it takes to show people one's pain. He does not mince words and is not ambiguous with his lyrics. The imagery from his words cuts like a knife. I find myself flinching, holding my breath and silently tears fall every time I listen to his 2 mixtapes. I am just thankful that he found the strength and determination to live and realize his dreams are equally important; that he is not a 'monster' because he has big dreams and that even though he felt that his family and friends were drifting farther away that he is loved and worthy of love. I truly hope that he now knows who the people are who genuinely loves/ cares about him, supports him, has his back in difficult times. In his recent interview with IU, he said he has let go of the anger and negativity and is now at peace. We might see it in his new album. I am very glad. Yoongi deserves so much love, happiness and peace.
And also the suga and iu pallette reaction where suga share his thoughts about his album you should look for it and also they sing together love your genuine reaction πΆβπ«οΈπ
I recommend you this video. It is an essay about the songwriting styles of the members of bts. I think that their different styles reflect very much their personalities.
Just a random comment, Iβm enjoying your content so far. If you want to try out other kpop or rap content once you are done looking through BTS rap line, I can suggest Bang Yongguk. Notable ones are AM 4:44 (itβs brutal, talking about his experience under a thug company who destroyed him and his group), off, hikkikomori, Yamazaki to name a few. Or his duet with Zelo in Pray. It still haunts me with how deep it is.
yes i remember i was stunned the first time i listened to Suga itΒ΄s like he is speaking to himself in a diary form that we all can relate with. and you can feel the pain when he spits itΒ΄s not empty words. he is just amazing and he produce music too on top of that. damn talented
This mixtape is one of the (many) reasons I admire Yoongi SO MUCH. This mixtape was full of anger and fire at the people who tried to tear him down, but at the same time… it's full of vulnerability and grace. That all of these sides of him are on one album is just… mind-blowing.
He talks about things like social anxiety and depression that NO ONE spoke of in those days, and he straight-out tells ARMY that if talking about his pain helps even one person get through their own struggles, it was all worth it.
The hip-hop underground crowd dared to question his manhood for wearing makeup on stage, which is total BS. This? THIS is being a man. THIS is what real courage and strength look like. THIS is standing up for yourself and your loved ones.
This song made me feel hurt for him π’ I'm so happy that he is now happy as he already said that he had forgiven all those haters back then! π’π’π’ Saranghae MIN YOONGI!! πππππ
i really thing that the last is one of the most intense songs capturing the feeling of depression/anxiety that i've heard. like the pain in his voice is so intense yet it's so amazing because the end is so victorious. this song really was one of the first songs that made me look further into bts music and made me ARMY. it's really amazing too to think about how risky it might have been for him to release this when he's a member of an idol group and mental health issues are not treated with care in s. korea. it was very vulnerable of him.
Love your reactions! Glad you made it to Yoongi- you've got a lot more to discover and his new album D-dat drops the 21st!!! So exciting!!! ππ΅ππ΅π
I love your reactions! I'm first!

During yoongi's The Last studio recording, yoongi mentioned how he had to redo the parts cause he couldnt stop crying while recording
