Vanguard is underrated imo
Vanguard, whilst VERY BAD, is giving alot of Chaos vibes with the art style, which is excellent.
I hate Vanguard, I don't like it and don't play it, but man when I'm like watching a Rizzo review on Vanguard I'll see certain things like the designs of stuff and think it's quite neat
The atmosphere was definitely solid. I remember watching the first trailer for Vanguard zombies and being very hyped despite the fact that I knew it wouldn't be round based and that was 100% thanks to the dark WW2 setting. I was very excited to see Treyarch go back to their WaW "horror" roots. Sadly the game itself was a huge disappointment, but the vibe was great. I hope that Treyarch's next game has a unique personality to it.

I don't like vanguard and the zombies but recently tried out the shi no numa round based and it is pretty okay. The guns in vanguard feel good to shoot and the gameplay is fine. I have been playing lots of bo4 zombies lately as well. I have hope for treyarchs next zombies title. I did a round 100 on shi no numa round based it's easy as heck and not as boring as cold war high rounds. Keep up the great videos donuts 🤟😎
The best thing that Vanguard did was show us that treyarch STILL listens, even when down on the ropes they still tried to alleviate our concerns of everything. People didn't like out of gameplay progression? Perks and field upgrades upgrade in game. Too easy? Now you're a 2 shot without armor. Style points are… lacking? (It wasnt) let's make it ALL about style points and color. Even when they cannot produce a product on par with any previous titles it still TRIED to do its best to be an expansion to cold war

I do hate how when people hate something, they refuse to say anything good about it even if there might be a few good things worth mentioning
All this proves in my mind is that you can't just have great gameplay and you can't just have great art direction. You need both to marry together in a perfect tandom.
The art pulls you into the space you are playing in and the gameplay keeps you there.
Cold War has very little reason for me to enter but the gameplay keeps me engaged and Vanguard had awesome art with no reason to stay.
Not trying to be a dick but this entire channel is just copium for some of the worst zombies experiences

I will give you this, yes, vanguard had brilliant art derection, and I loved the demonic theme of the game mode, but the gameplay itself is so bad compared to every other entry in the franchise that it completely ruins the game for me. Shi no numa reborn did a good job patching up the cuts that der unfang and dera malidicta made, but at that point I already stopped caring about vanguard zombies.

Tbh I don’t think it really matters. Vanguard had the worst launch ever and the damage has already been done 😭
Yes BO4 and BO2 had mediocre or poor launches, but they both have Top tier DLC content which made up for it.
Vanguard never redeemed itself. All future updates simply made it functional 🤷♂️
When they announced round-based was coming to the game I binged Der Anfang and Tera Maledicta nonstop until Shi No Numa arrived, and it really started to click with me after getting used to all the features. Nowadays I really enjoy the mode, round-based and objectives. It's not the best zombies experience, but I like it way better than spec ops from mw2019 and mwII
shi no numa reborn was a homerun in vanguard zombies imo, the map was just alot of fun and showed the potential vanguard had.
Treyarch was dealt a terrible hand and there was no way vanguard could of succeed under these conditions with it being a skeleton crew that has never even worked on zombies before on a brand new engine. Activision knew it and did not care but I do respect treyarch for not giving up despite pretty much 100% negative reception and ended up making Shino reborn which was a solid map.
