Mathis is clearly not cut from the same fabric, He's not a right fit for the fleet… he's good as far as an antagonist could be… completely threw the mission directive out the airlock and showed no respect for the chain of command and The Fleet in general… There doesn't seem to be any commitment from mathis and the fact that he would dare conspire to eliminate Delgado so quickly…thats 3 strikes, He's out.

I picked up on something there. The Lock wasn't just for dangerous, violent offenders, it was for regular prisoners as well. Space Siberia was the UC's idea of where to put all of them, and before they built this facility they just released them on the surface to fend for themselves. Things are looking less black and white all the time with the UC, New Atlantis is the veneer of civilization they hide the rest of it with.
