We all know that Google and Facebook have had a shady history when it comes to respecting user privacy. As such, it’s probably not all that surprising to hear that Google has been tracking users even when they’re using incognito mode. This, however, hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, Google was recently slapped with a $5 billion lawsuit regarding their tracking of incognito users. Google tried to defend this by suggesting that they disclose that certain institutions like ISPs may still be able to track user activity while using incognito, but they never disclosed that this includes Google themselves. This video explores the Google Incognito lawsuit and discusses what this means for the overall tech landscape and the future of privacy.

  1. Google crippled more innovations than they have ever gained or invented. No wonder how they got away, every Western-European crimes works this way. Ban TikTok, ban TP-Link, ban Huawei, while Meta, X, WhatsApp thrives and rigging elections contributing to genocides.
Hypocrisy is insane. The rising of the internet bring them a challenge of existential crisis. They cannot create enough bubble societies. Internet Education became the main problem which remember and reveal the truth

  2. If you want privacy , lose the mobile phone , and realise also that all devices are backdoored / compromised .
Your data is harvested recorded and stored for potential future use against you .
When online or on the phone – Be aware . Mind how you go .

  3. The main reason why these companies get in trouble with the government is because the they want an out from selling data to anyone, the government wants the bottom line to be them. No caveats. Rightfully so because countries like China and Russia can use the data for a number of manipulative things like flaring up racial tensions, manipulating the rich, police, politicians, etc through propaganda, or pushing false narratives to certain groups of citizens towards who to elect in their favor, and more.

  4. Big tech and financial institutions pay a fine to break the law. End users are hardly ever compensated but the money goes too???? You could argue the lawmakers are an arm of big tech and banks. A circus of legal proceedings to make you feel represented.

  5. Google doesnt care about a few billion lost here and there. And a hundred million isnt even a drop in the bucket. Their penalties must be comensurate with their market cap, revenue, and market share or they will simply write it off as an obligatory shakedown and just the cost of doing business.
