You have to check out the hidden appliances in this one. (prefab)

Welcome back. I have the Taylor by Clayton Homes, found at Iseman Homes in Minot, North Dakota. This is a 1900 sq ft home with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bath. You have hidden appliances, AKA cabinet matching faces. The floor plan is about as far from being an open floor plan as you can get.

  1. I agree with you on that fixture under the brick. Get rid of it or extension it. Like how the appliance match cabinets. No open shelves rather cabinets. It's a waterfall island when it goes down the side. Don't like sink in island. Wonder how many different colors cabinets come in that will match appliances. Would be nice to have a double sink in the jack n Jill bath. Like primary bathroom. Why do they always put a window beside the tub and toilet? Like the closet. Why can't all the utilities be in the utility room?
    Love the shower.
Very nice home. Really pretty. Thanks for the tour! Happy birthday to your son!!๐ŸŽ‰

  2. Exterior is nice. I'm not really a fan of the kitchen. Those "waterfall" countertops on the island just don't appleal to me…they just look like a box. Also, I'd rather have cabinets than floating shelves. I like the floor plan but the the rooms are very plain. I agree that the built-in entertainment area (livingroom) looks off centered and the same in the utility room…it needs more cabinets above the sink… or take out whats there. I'm sorry, I don't usually complain but nothing looks centered and for that pricetag, it should lol. Anyway, great tour just not for me. Thanks Nate!

  3. I like the floor plan, but it all looks so boxy too square.
That entertainment shelf either needs to be finished on out or better yet replaced with a different kind. I do like the half bath in the hall. The utility room is nice but it needs more cabinets. Like over the sink. In the kitchen, I don't like the island with those sides made like that. I could maybe like the appliances if there was a different color for them and the cabinets. I don't do sinks on the island.
I want sliding glass doors in the dining area.
The master suite is nice, but I could put up with the closet being smaller so the bedroom would be bigger. I love that closet. I just like a larger bedroom. The bath is fine but I want 2 sinks. Also, get rid of the 16:26 window closest to the toilet and enclose the toilet with a door. The other window in there could be taken out are made smaller.
2 sinks in the Jack and Jill bathroom.

Wish your son a Very Happy Birthday๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ from me. I hope he has a very 16:26 great day.

As always, I love your videos. I hope too keep seeing many more.

God bless you and your son.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฆ‹

  4. I really like this one with a few changes the finish on those cabinets look cheap. The vent hood needs changed I could imagine the grease and smears on it. The water heater needs to be put in the utility room in one of those closets. Love the shower with one exception I like the knee wall with the window no door on it. Sorry for the 4 paragraphs LOL

  6. Hello Nate! Typing after every other room or so.

#1) In the Foyer I would actually put a Coat Closet in place of that coat hanger/bench thing they have. Then I'd put a bench seat in front of that window.
#2) In the Living Room, I would put in a Gas Fireplace or Wood-burning Store in front of that Brick. Wood box on at least one side if it's a wood-burning stove. But entrainment cubbies on each side with a Gas Fireplace. Love that the Living Room is mostly closed off! We'd have carpet in the Living Room.
#3) In the Dining Room there's room for Grandma's China Cabinet on that wall; can even put it in the corner! So that's great! Of course, we'd build an enclosed deck/porch outside those sliding doors!
#4) Okay. I'd have to change a lot in the kitchen. I'd want a regular Gas Cook Stove with oven underneath it, with a Pot Filler above the Stove. Having an extra Oven would be great, so keep the oven they do have. But the Microwave is too high for me, and as I can't climb, I couldn't reach it that way either. So it will have to be moved over to the corner of the countertop – by the window is the best place. Just put more cabinets where the shown microwave is. I'm one of those that doesn't like the sink being in the island! But at the moment I don't see where else it could go. But it doesn't look like there's enough room between the counters/cabinets and the island to use a wheelchair without hitting and marring either the island or the cabinets or both. Would be a tight fit to even use a walker between them. Could cut the Island down – we wouldn't use the sitting space for sitting, so it's not necessary – and move it back some , giving me more room, maybe enough room. I might make the cabinets a shade lighter in color, although I do like the color they are, but it makes it kinda dark in there; although the lighter countertops do help lighten things up. So I'm undecided on that! I like the counter going down the sides of the island though. We don't need a dishwasher either, so the island could be cut down there as well. Or just put in another cabinet or drawers. The Pantry is very big. From looking at the floorplan, I know how I'm going to make it a tad bigger, see #6.
#5). The Half bathroom I would rearrange a little bit. Need a tad more room on each side of the commode, which I think we could get by turning the commode facing away from the door. I'd put a different sink in there too as I don't like the kind that's shown. And maybe move it so it's in the corner. Maybe put a Pocket Door in and save some room that way.
#6) This first bedroom, labeled #2 on floorplan, I'd use as my Music/Studio and Office Rooms. Doorway opening from the kitchen. The front part of the room, 1/4 of the room, would be my Office with carpet. The back 3/4's part would be closed off and soundproofed, making it my Music/Studio Room, it's door going from the office.
Now the Pantry…I would not need the Closet of this bedroom, now my other rooms. So add this Closet to the existing Pantry, put the shelves from floor to ceiling down one side and on the back wall. There you have a nice sized inside Pantry!!
The other Bedroom, #3 on floorplan, and the Jack 'n' Jill Bathroom, would be turned into my Library with a small sitting area with a carpet. Door put where the doorway is shown going to all the rooms there.
#7) The Utility Room. It's a nice room. The furnace is in there, but the water heater is not. I've already watched the rest of the video, so I know the water heater (saw it on the floorplan too) is in the Master Closet! That is a big NO for me. I don't like them in any closet, but especially Not the Master Closet. There's a coat closet and a linen closet in the utility room. So I'd use one of them for the Water Heater. Out that back door would be where we'd build our Garage with a Storage unit and a place for a Freezer and a Pet Shower and maybe even a long-term big Pantry.
#8) The Master Suite. The Bedroom is nice. I would not have that barn door inside my house though, so I'd put a regular door or a Pocket Door going into the bathroom. I wish the closet was off the bedroom and not in the bathroom, but it's not a deal breaker. The single sink is okay as long as it's set so there's equal room on the counter on each side – that gives me one side and hubby one side for our stuff. I'd replace the shown tub with a Handicapped Tub. The Closet Door would be replaced with a Pocket Door which takes up less room. Then that wall shown between the door and the Commode would be removed. Then I would close off the window next to the Commode and turn the Commode to face more toward the bathroom door, giving lots of equal room on the left and the right sides of the Commode. I'd put that one-way glass in the other window. That Closet is very, very nice! I've already said what I'd do with the water heater being in the closet (see #7), so the table would go all the way back to the wall as the water heater is no longer in the closet! I might put carpet in the closet as well as a wide bench so I could actually get dressed in there. The Tile Shower needs a bench in it as well as doors, which I know just haven't been put on as yet.
#9) We'd put porches around most of the house, some enclosed and some just covered, but mostly enclosed.

The price isn't too bad. Good video Nate. See you later. God bless y'all.

  7. Love the overall floorplan with closed off living room, and the kitchen is great. But with the two extra storage closets in the utility room, you cannot tell me the water heater couldn't have gone in there. What a hassle to try to take this one out through the closet, bathroom, main bedroom and living room and then out the front door. Very poor planning to me. At least the main bath shower looks easy to get into and has hand-held sprayers, so that is good for using with a shower chair.

  8. I like the little nook at the entrance, and the way the living room is sectioned off. I would add a fireplace. I agree with you about the entertainment shelf. That's a very unique fridge & island. Disappointing pantry. The jack n jill bathroom should have 2 sinks. Nice sized guest closets. I would extend the racks in the 1st one. That's one of the biggest utility rooms I've ever seen, with 2 closets, it needs shelves or cabinets over the sink. That is a pretty sliding door in the master suite. Magnificent master bath, and that closet, wow! ๐Ÿ˜ฎToo bad they put the water heater in it, the utility room is big enough to accommodate it. I would add a seat in the shower & make the toilet a water closet.

  10. Remove the water heater from the wall in the master closet and then flatten the wall and you get more wall space for racks and put the Water heater in the coat closet space in the laundry room behind the door. Poor choice to do what they did. This home would be ok with some adjustments and minor changes to improve it to the home it could and should have been, as is some poor design choices were made keeping this home from again what it could be and should be.

  11. I love the cabinets and the backsplash, but couldn't they find a countertop that actually went with it? I am really enjoying the less open open floor plans. It feels more homey to me. Question? Is the drywall cracking during transport. Is that why I sometimes see the unpainted spots on the walls? And if so will they really stick around and re-mud and repaint or will the home owner be stuck with repairing?

  12. Very nice appliances and the waterfall island is lovely. I much prefer the separate hob and oven. I'm not keen on the outside colours or the brown cupboards but apart from that everything is lovely. I agree with you about the unit under the TV. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
