I’m Justin B. McBride. I publish overland and adventure videos perfect for learning how to overland for beginners, usually in my Jeep Gladiator. You can find me exploring around Utah in Moab, Monument Valley, The Bonneville Salt Flats and of course, a few of my favorite secret overlanding and camping spots.

Where is the gofund me link?

I thought this was a common practice on any hill to begin with..
Or: Drive a manual Jeep like the lord intended.
Park blocks
Learning how to drive in a stick shift taught me to ALWAYS use the parking brake (hint: it's literally called the "parking brake," y'all) and, fortunately, I think my sons have picked up the habit…
Ditto: Godspeed on your recovery, Susie.
Tricks on you I don’t have park. I do just turn it off and leave in first or throw a piece of firewood under the tire when sleeping or in a sketch spot
Ive been doing this since the moment i received the keys to my 1st car. Never owned a full size pickup truck. Even then, a small sedan on a driveway, you can hear all the weight of the vehicle on that transmission. Utilize those E-Brakes
But now if e-brake slips, parking pawl isnt clicked in yet, like you showed. Its gonna click click click down the hill. I dont like either way thinking about it lol.
Thanks!
If it's on an incline and loose earth, Wouldn't chalking a wheel be practical, in addition to the aforementioned precautions?
Drive a manual, you know, like people with more than 2 braincells do…
We learn this on the first day when we test for driving wildland fire engines.
Park brake then park shift is all you need.
Thanks for this. Just subscribed. Will share to save a life too and props to you for including her gofundme
What is an E brake?🇭🇲
Just park sideways? That’s why we always did.
lol 😂😂
Or drive a manual that stays in gear LOL
Don't forget to turn your wheel so if your brakes fail, it will not roll in a straight line.
I think more people need to drive manual transmissions, and I actually think that should be the only type of transmission sold and if you cannot operate that you don’t get to drive
This is how actor Anton Yelchin (Chekov Star Trek) died. He put his jeep in park and walked around back to open the trunk but the jeep slipped out of park pinning him against a wall.
I've been doing this for years
Ah, turn tires uphill
Hence the proper term "parking" brake
Did any one see that black dot in the background
