It has been a CRAZY 24 hours around the NHL and that continued on Friday when the Toronto Maple Leafs fired Kyle Dubas.

  1. Ron Hextall for the Leafs GM lol, maybe he would gladly take Mikael Granlund and Jeff Carter off The Penguins hands since he loved them so much lol.

  2. Im still saying I think Chayka will be the President of Hockey Ops and either Tulsky, Darche, or MacKinnon will be the GM. If I had a darkhorse shadow candidate, Sam Ventura.

  3. I watched a clip from The Penguins and Capitals 4OT game from 96 and Eddie Johnston who was The Penguins coach for that game said at one point they ran out of water and gatorade for the players and he said between periods they actually sent someone out to get them chocolate bars. Speaking of pizza, I think The Penguins did order one between periods in 2008 when they played that 3OT game against The Red Wings in the Stanley Cup Final in game in Detroit.

  4. I wouldn't be surprised if FSG had Mario Lemieux, himself, contact Kyle, and reassure him that the hockey environment, in Pittsburgh is not as stressful as it is in Toronto. In his media day availability, Kyle had referenced how stressful it was for him, and his family, to be part of the Leafs. Remember that he and many members of the Leafs' staff had received threats, from "fans".
I was most shocked that Shanahan also got rid of Jason Spezza, whom I thought would be the next GM, if Dubas left.

  5. I know Dubas said last week if he's not back with the Leafs he wants to take time off, but I still think FSG should reach out and make a pitch to him. Money talks.

  6. Doesn't this put Kyle Dubas in A Precarious Situation, since, He, more or less, said He didn't envision GMing anywhere else than Toronto? If He takes the Penguins Job(s), coupled with the fact that He'd Asked For More $, per Brendan Shanahan in His Press Conference, does it not Call Into Question, His Family Thing? Let me know what you think

  7. My only corcern with Dubas: is he invested right away? After what he told the press last week. Because….you know, lot of work to do, little room for mistakes. This New GM has to be right on it from day 1.
