TF2, HL2, L4D2, GMOD, CS and basically all source games are just LEGENDARY, thats some big words, and not many games can say that. S++ tier
I showed my friends the original video "Back 4 Blood proves Valve carried Left 4 Dead by Crowbcat" and they still believe Back 4 Blood is better than Left 4 Dead! XD they are so brain dead and stubborn to realise the effort that Valve put in to Left 4 Dead 1+2 compared to B4B because B4B is a newer game, where the fuck is the logic in that?
Like a Dono said L4D had a level of depth and gore and the animations were better than most games at the time and nowadays and yet people still believe B4B is better, safe to say I need new fucking friends to play with lmao. Left 4 Dead 1+2 was and is still one of my favourite games and great memories I had playing.
It's a shame that new games flop especially when they look good from advertisement (which ik is the point) but due to every company trying to 1 up each other in graphics and 'style' there is not enough time put into fixing bugs and glitches, making a good story and making the game actually memorable. The only games that people still play are sequels and prequals to existing games which is just people feeding off of nostalgia, there are still great new games being released but comparing the amount of disappointments to fun from release is embarrassing.
not only that but each new game is more demanding and taxing on pc's and consoles in general as they require the latest tech to look good and run functionally which eventually people will not be able to afford to do (who earn an average wage). Games like Call of Duty take up a large amount of space just because they have unused and uncompressed files with the install which makes it painstaking to spend a long time downloading just for it not to function (if you have poor wifi like me :))
People saying its to hard to code and taxing on the systems go play True crime NY and LA on ps2 or xbox better then left for dead
guys its not that difficult to grasp. valve budget vs struggling turtle rock budget, its like comparing a mansion built in 1992 to a condo built last year. "why does it have less bedrooms?? no outdoor pool??" no matter how old l4d2 gets the physics of the source games will probably never be topped by anybody besides valve themselves.

I'll never forget L4D1 was one of the first games I ordered after seeing my irl friends play with the intention to play with them, then after I received my pc copy from HMV they immediately stopped playing, I played with random public for many months and loved it, I modded a tiny bit (Yoshi tongue, little less conversation johnny bravo tank) and loved it. Nothing has come close to it. L4D2 was "better" but lost some heart (and 80% playerbase) could not relate to the characters, everyone hated rochell, EVERYONE loved Zoe. I will play it again when times are better, it's dangerous to relive the past, replaying Payday1 taught me that. >That chill when you first hear the tank music with nothing in sight, goddamn that's gaming.
the l4d ragdolls are something different… i miss those days. especially the fun you had playing these games for months on end and now it just feels like im throwing my cash into a fire pit everytime i see these type of games
Once a new fps game gets a release with source 2, it's probably going to be so fucking good. Aside from Alyx, not really something everyone has a chance to play.
the animation donos don't make sense, if l4d could do it that many years ago then a current gen game should have literally 0 issues doing much much more due to the tech advances.
For anyone that doesnt understand the boycott it was because they said they were gonna release more content in L4D1 and they only added a couple things and started L4D2 so the community decided to try boycotting so they made more content for L4D1
Seeing how there are still many players on l4d2 after how many years, it's just proves crowbcat video is right.
In the beta, the pratice range was more fun than the actual pve lol

One thing i dont like about The crowbcat video is that its just pointing out b4b flaws and altho they are there i'd say b4b is fun in its own way pretty different from l4d 1 and 2 so if someone still has doubt on wether to buy b4b or not i'd say give it a try its a really fun game if you dont go in thinking its l4d3
Recently I’ve went back and played max payne 1-3 with a friend and we are having a blast but we noticed that the animation and destruction in max payne 3 from a decade ago still tops most games today

You can do mocap yourself at home.
Its a fast way to do high-quality animations, fixing them up is your job as an animator.
There is no excuse to justify the difference in detail and love between these 2 games.
Btw dislike the bash at Evolve in the end. Thats a good game aswell.
I fell like Back 4 Blood didn't have Characters with good story depth or dialog. L4D and L4D2 seemed like a Tarantino Movie.
Fun fact: The voice actress for Glados in portal is the same voice actor for the witch in Left 4 Dead

Even when it comes to less technologically impressive valve games like Dota 2, I don't think any company can approach their functional style. Their sound design for example is unparalleled. I can hear any ability, attack sound, or item noise with a blindfold on and tell you what's happening on screen. They aren't as flashy as other studios, but every game asset will be tailored to be immediately recognizeable.

lol I played L4D since 2008 and L4D2 since 2009, so I keep playing it for 13 years and never once in my life I feel bored of it. Truly a wonderful game.
left 4 dead is honestly a classic. feels like no other zombie game can compete with it
