In this video, I discuss Xpeng’s NGP autopilot system that is beating Tesla’s FSD at it’s own game. Make sure to drop me a thumbs up if you enjoyed this video! 👍

  1. I don't have any opinion on the merits of XPeng's approach relative to Tesla, but FSD versions 11.3 & 11.4 seem to be getting very good at a lot of what you've said it can't do. Some of EMs timeframes are quite a long way off the mark, but Tesla seems to overcome all of the technology challenges in the end. Since they have a lot of vehicles in use now and they have cashflow and profitability that no other EV manufacturer has…I'm backing Tesla to succeed. Maybe both will succeed.

  2. Thanks for the video,

I have been following XPENG for 2 years now. They provide beautiful cars and impressive software. Only concern is consumers behavior as this is the main element that determines the company's existence. For example, we all know that the G9 was and still is an amazing car but consumers differ on that. Hopefully this will not continue with their new cars. If they sell 30k/month, then there is a chance for them to get into robotaxi segment. If not, I fear they will file for bankruptcy

  3. XPeng's ADAS is starting to pull away from the rest of the competition. In the latest test done by auto journalists on the upcoming G6, they unanimously agreed that the highway driving assistance is almost flawless and drives like an experienced driver with pretty much zero interventions, even in heavy rain. For city driving assistance, there was also no need for interventions except for the most difficult situations. Safety was not compromised at all times and there was a good balance of aggressiveness and caution. Really looking forward to XNGP Phase 2 in the 2nd half of the year when they will drop HD maps and open up city NGP to all Chinese cities.
