  1. “This isn’t too surprising…prices go up”

Yeah, fine, but that wasn’t exactly your reaction to Sonys price increase was it?

You and your guests basically had a meltdown in response to that. You were angry, you sneered at Sonys reasons, you mocked them, you were extremely cynical and took the opportunity to seriously lay into Sony.

This just gets a verbal shrug from you, as I predicted it would at the time.

At least try a little, man, it’s laughable how slanted your coverage is.

Why so sanguine now? Why didn’t you say “prices go up” when Sony did it?

Who do you think is more capable of insulating their profits from rising costs – Sony or the two trillion dollar Microsoft?

  2. So when I first heard the WarioWare trailer I noticed that Wario’s voice sounded different. This was before I knew there was a conspiracy theory. It was curious, and I think it’s interesting. I’m not harassing anyone, I don’t have Twitter, I just noticed it myself and after hearing the Mario clips it is indeed interesting. Jan seriously why do I need to touch grass? Why are you acting like I have no life because I noticed something? Touch grass… cool. I do plenty with my life. Why are you so fucking insulting over a thing people noticed. What is YOUR problem? Charles isn’t your personal friend.

  3. Sony raises prices-> Arrogant & Anti-consumer & Jimbo the Evil Lord
Xbox raises prices-> To be expected & Economic reality & Phil Spencer’s name not uttered once

I’m here for the Jeff Grubb shtick. It’s not that you’re not journalists or you lack integrity, it is that you’re cheap corporate concubines.

  4. I figure PC Game Pass is going to get more of a push for a while, they have to compete with lower sale prices and more accessible pirating options with a service that's convenient enough to pull people in without being too pricey.

As for the overall price change, I think US game prices have held better (just recently moving from $60 to $70) so the sub increase probably feels more dramatic, whereas in the UK for example our game prices have gone up from £40-50 up to £60-70 in the past few years, so a slight change to subscription fees still makes it feel like a worthwhile alternative.

  5. Sonic Superstars trailer shows sonic and fang crossing from classic visuals to modern..is this sugggesting we can play in the classic visual style?
I wouldnt ordinarily assume that but sonic goes bk and forth between them multiple times in the ad…i certainly hope you can!
The modern looks fine but my brain wants classic visuals..

It was almost a year ago. So, I understand him forgetting but many people gave Sony a hard time about the PS5 price increase including on this show in the 8/25/22 episode. Funny enough, he was on that episode where he & Jeff gave Sony a hard time about the price increase.

  7. Sony Raises Prices: "Oh, here we go again! "Arrogant Sony" is back and greedier than ever!"

Microsoft / Xbox Raises Prices: . . . (Crickets) "That's just the normal cost of doing business. Boy, I sure do love Phil Spencer and how he gets me excited for Xbox whenever I see / meet / hear him" (despite years of his empty corpo rhetoric and his tenure as Xbox CEO has been grossly underwhelming since 2014).

Like… do y'all not even recognize the bias you have, even subconsciously, regarding Sony and Xbox? (Or Nintendo, who gets an automatic pass for all the backwards, antiquated, consumer unfriendly, and outright antagonistic things they continually do.)

Giant Bomb collectively tore Sony a new assh*le for raising prices (indeed, as a website, Giant Bomb is pretty quick to shit on Sony or downplay anything they do).

Meanwhile, a 2+ trillion dollar mega corp / 2nd wealthiest company on Earth / who could handily buy both Sony & Nintendo with their yearly profits / who could easily afford to run all of Game Pass & Xbox at a loss, if they wanted…? Nothing.

  8. I think a big part of the reason the LOTR IP sold for so cheap was specifically because Amazon spent an enormous sum on show rights and ended up with a flop. Entertainment execs want nothing but prestige television/games currently, and LOTR just strikes me as a very poor fit for that presentation style. I still think something big could be made from that IP in the modern era, but it almost certainly won't come from the Embracer Group.

  9. No push back from me, already have game pass, and a huge amount of games to play.
My Game Pass is stacked until 2025 I pay nothing until then. GP is not based on Starfield, we have tons of games to play, strange take from the chap on the left!
Do people still push the narrative that Xbox has no games when we have loads, also over 30 Million people on game pass easily.

  10. My conspiracy theory has always been the reason they hired Chris Pratt for the movie is to normalize Mario having a different voice because Charles Martinet is retiring soon
