Xbox Developer Direct 2024 Live | Indiana Jones, Senua's Saga Hellblade 2, Visions of Mana & More

Join us for the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 livestream on January 18th at 12pm PT! Presented by the game creators themselves, Developer_Direct offers an in-depth look at upcoming titles, how they’re being created, and who’s creating them. We’ll visit MachineGames in Sweden to check in on their Indiana Jones game, swing by Obsidian’s Irvine offices to see more from Avowed, head to Oxide Games’ Maryland home to learn about Ara: History Untold, and take a trip to Cambridge, England to see Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II from Ninja Theory.

Please note that while this show won’t have updates on games from Activision Blizzard, you can look forward to news from those teams later this year.

  1. I hope Obsidian understands that making a RPG with choices, and Dialogue that can change outcomes, it will be compared to Baldur's Gate 3. It set a new standard for RPG storytelling, and choice outcomes. So make sure you do it well.

  2. ARA looks great I was really excited for that one. I was telling my son I hope they have console DLC unlike Anno. He assured me they wouldn’t have it on XBOX direct if it wouldn’t. To my disbelief they won’t even have it on XBOX at all! Seriously? They are putting PC exclusive games on XBox Direct?

  3. Im so conflicted with Avowed, I love the setting and almost everthing about it except the combat is a big let down to me. I never liked this first person combat in skyrim or any other RPG. I would have loved for it to have been a Third Person RPG.

  4. I like the look of some of these games and I guess Indy would be extra dull if it was yet another 3rd person tomb raiding franchise.

But this whole presentation is exactly like a timeshare presentation.

The time has passed for this rehearsed nonsense.

Send in skilful interviewers to as the devs questions they’re unprepared for so they have every chance to speak candidly and honestly.

Then cut the presentation together with real speaking. Actual words. Not this old school Todd Howard style rehearsed sales presentation. So lifeless and ingenuous.

They’re all decent looking games so I’m certain that the devs would have some nice and honest things to say about them.

    It’s not timeshare ffs.

  5. Avowed, Hellblade 2, and Indiana all look amazing! The RTS game isn't really my thing so I don't remember the name(probably a cool game). I can't wait for somebody to mod Indy on PC to be VR compatible. I loved Secret of Mana when I was a kid. I beat it once, then played it again as a teen on SNES9X with my brother in co-op and beat it. Looking good Xbox! Really looking forward to playing Hellblade with some headphones on. That dude sold me 100%.

  6. Thats it? I need PlayStation or Nintendo consoles from now on. There has only been about 5 games that i actually want to play on Xbox. Halo, Dead space, Gears of war, Hellblade, Ninja gaiden and now recently (fingers crossed) Prince of Persia. Everything else "ehh" 🤷

  7. The Indiana Jones game looks awesome not sure about the sub title though. From Raiders of the Lost Ark to The Last Crusade, great titles to get excited about but The Great Circle sounds very bland …. I wonder how long it took them to think of that name.

  8. They're obviously already planning sequels, but everything tells me this game is gonna be even less popular than their Wolf 1/2. And remember, how Beth complained about not having enough sales for those two?

  9. Dude Indiana Jones!! No way, been waiting to hear about this game for years now. Looks really good. Machine Games are the perfect fit for that franchise. Thank god the Indiana Jones franchise won't end with the last diaster of a movie. Cant wait.
