I have played around 7 hours right now and I'd say I'm enjoying the game a lot. It has some little flaws here and there but all in all it has been giving me enough fun for a 30 dollars game. So yeah, I'd say you could at least try playing a bit more and just see for yourself.
The style is closest to children of morta I would say

Graphically, gameplay and sound all look weak. Despite being a fan of this genre and indies, I don’t see anything compelling here. Wizard of Legend was amazing for me, and this looks dull in comparison.
And when looking at steam this is a $30 game without any introductory price cut for a 2.5 hour experience, and on top of this there are spells locked behind $14 of dlc. Someone commented this is a $10 content game with a $30-$44 price tag for the LOL name. Hard pass for me.

League of legends is really lore oriented in some aspects so I wouldn't expect less story time in the future. It can be annoying but every league players knows some kind of lore and it just appeals to some to know more of it

If you actually read the store page, its not tagged as a roguelike at all. It's an RPG hack n' slash game. lol
The magic stealing flash and sound really does make it feel like you’re taking damage. It’s quite annoying honestly

Based on the plot so far, a better title would've been "The Mage: Mageseeker Seeker"
Xbox Elite controller or any other controller with back buttons/paddles solves the problem of taking your fingers off the face buttons to use the right stick.

Sylas is an antihero, Demacian politics represent the xenophobia in the western world, mages = different, therefore mages go to prison or get murdered (yet they use and abuse magic and the arcane indirectly)
You should read two comics called Lux and Katarina by riot games. They are like prequel to this game and gives you all you need to know. They are also short enough so you get through em really quick
Bought it today.. it’s amazingly fun! Never been into LoL but hot damn this game is GOOD!
