Just two absolute gems that we will never see it's like again.
you do understand the second song was 1983 dont even know if they even had cordless mikes back then and the first one was 2003 – i mean to say couldnt you see how young the boys were in wild thing – 20 years difference between the first and second song
I grew up with these guys. One of the greatest bands of all time. The vids you watched were from 2002 on a reunion tour (When the War is Over) and back to 1983 when the originally disbanded.
I was lucky enough to see the 2002 tour. Check out Bow River from the same tour. Magic.
When the war is over is such a powerful song and message , after all these years it still gets me 😢.
Barnesy used to drink two bottles of vodka at every gig back in the early chisel days in the late seventies/early eighties
You just heard one of the greatest bands the world has seen. So many fire tracks by these guys. Thanks for your reaction
Cold Chisel was/is a great band.
Aussie pub rock. Grew up on it. So many great songs
Nice and honest reaction as always 🫠
Do you know Entheos? They're so talented and Chaney's voice is overwhelming… Actually it's a tech-death band so she dosen't really sing (just a little bit) which maybe you don't prefer so much I think, but who knows 🙂
Anyway I love them♥️ the whole new album is so listenable for everyone.
Have a nice day!
Mantap brow..next..❤❤😊
The original recording if this song is the one you should listen to. The greatest, most soulful guitar solo ever!
The one standing up is the man, the myth, the legend, Mr Jimmy Barnes! One of the greatest rock/soul singers to ever walk on a stage!
You have to react to John Farnham's cover of Help live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Then we can talk about John and Jimmy singing together.
Meh. Talented..but didn't do anything for me.
Thanks for your reaction! Cold chisel – great band! Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss and musicians – fabulous! Jimmy Barnes solo, also fabulous. Jimmy and duets – amazing. Please check out Jimmy doing "Stone Cold" with Joe Bonamassa.
No such thing as cordless microphones in 1983
These are the days when jimmy would drink a bottle of vodka straight on stage during the concerts so all sorts of crazy would happen. Cold chisel was the very first concert I went to at the age of 14. I will die loving this band
We all know Jimmy is the quintessential wild man rock star and his vocals are killer..but just listen to Mossy play that guitar 🎸 🎸 adjust picking up on every sound that's skill
You will also Love there song Bow River …
one does not react without knowing the name of the one "standing up" 🙂
I grew up on Cold Chisel, ACDC, Hunters and Collectors, the Angel's etc, so good, I saw them often as it was a quick hop over the ditch from Australia to New Zealand, and I am only scratching the surface, saw so many in the 1980s ,please keep up looking for the great old school music that came out of Aus, cheers from NZ, PS loved your stream of lovebites Awaken from the Abyss, SO SO GOOD
One more comment, this live performance of When the war is over was when the band was starting to rip themselves apart, so sad, I believe that the drummer has pasted on through cancer
When the War is Over was written by the drummer Steve Prestwich, sung by Ian Moss & Jimmy Barnes . One of the few bands where all five members wrote songs that became hits
https://youtu.be/MC0kuuiu5SU
Here you go. The Warnings very first public gig.
Whya re all these reactions vids using this same live show. Certainly not their best
Someone needs to organise two more Chisel songs as another request. Maybe Saturday Night (official video) and Goodbye (Astrid, Goodbye) live?
You should watch more of these guys, Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss the two leads both have solo careers and another amazing singer is John Farnham
Grew up sneaking out to see this band on the 'wrong side of town' in Adelaide, glad I did 😊
I love seeing people react to cold chisel, it's like hearing magic and not knowing how you missed it for so long.
Check out John Farnham, he's something special as well.
We're so spoilt lol we forget how bloody good they are
So glad y'all got to hear this, esp. Barnsey with his brilliantly emotive voice. Make sure you see his duet with Tina Turner Simply the Best, she gets a nice surprise! Part of the reason Jimmy Barnes sounds so good is his Scot accent, I think. (Also think that Celine Dion's gorgeous French Canadian accent helps separate her from the rest.) Yay Chisel!
Lead singer is 'Barnsie".. pretty old these days. Seen him live a number of times. Here is a link to him performing with his daughter in more recent times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXpA6y5JDbA
Here's his daughter in the trials on the voice, with Keith Urban cutting sick on the guitar, then Jimmy bounces out and closes the song, unfortunately Mahalia didn't win (she was 'robbed!") :D.. but its a great clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLdLRpq9ZBI
Jimmy banes and cold chisel were around for many years. He battled addiction and this is seen in the second video he truly is 'off his chops'. However, what i like about Jimmy as a human being, is that it doesn't matter where he is performing (and he used to to road trips into he remote areas), he would put his all into it, whether he was performing for a few hundred or a few thousand. i went to a concert with him at a little town in the Pilbara in 1989 (i think? maybe early 1990). really laid back – take your picnic chairs and your eskie with grog and just watch them perform. he definitely moves into the crowd.
There are a heap of great Chisel songs. My favourites, Flametrees, Forever Now, and then all the usuals, Khe Sanh, When The war is over, Bow River, Cheap Wine, no sense, Breakfast at Sweethearts, and Ita – although you have to be an Australian of a certain age to have any idea what Ita is all about.
ps if you listen to Flametrees, a flametree is a native tree that usually flowers around christmas and they are all red. As a result – flametrees. Country road sides, fields, and forests are lined with them in summer.
By the way, Chisel's live performances were wild and often got completely out of control. They were famous for that. When they called it a day they really did it with a bang.
This is from back in the 80s
Such a great reaction! Thank you for sharing 😊
Please check out more Cold Chisel!!!!
Also you might want to “Do yourself a favour” ( a famous quote from Australia music icon when reviewing records) and react to Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham “When Something Is With My Baby” it’s brilliant.
anytime you react to any Australian artist an I should always be a live version it, it makes my heart smile as I hope it does for you 😊
To think this concert took place 40 years ago and still it gives me goosebumps and makes my hair stand on end. We here in Australia were blessed, so glad I was around to enjoy them.
