  2. "Near Death Experiences (NDE's)" are very dodgy – most, if not all, of them are demonic deception, and are full of doctrine that is hostile to God's word. Like when people think they go to Heaven and all their dead family members and friends are there having a wonderful time – when those people never accepted the gospel, so weren't saved, so will NOT end up in Heaven, but in the Lake of Fire, according to the Bible. Deceptions like that are designed by Satan to give people a false sense of security in their own self-righteousness. It makes them think everyone goes to Heaven so they're fine, and they don't need to accept the gospel – which they most certainly do.

With this bloke, I have no idea if his "NDE" was Satanic deception or not, but it got him thinking about life after death so it was used by God either way. Sooo many so-called Christians have ZERO discernment for these things and if someone says they went to Heaven, or met Jesus or and angel etc, they believe it was of God without question. It's a very dangerous attitude; demons pretend to be God and good angels, and dead relatives all the time, to mess with people.

  3. Falcon college in the 60s was ridiculous with disciple, over the top and in cases sadistic.
A son of a prominent family "disapeared" on one of the many 5 km runs in the mine dunes, never to be seen again.
There were numerous open mine shafts, did he slip, or did he jump.
He was being bullied by the system to extremes.

  6. Great testimony! Inspirational. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

  7. An amazing story of God's grace, a grace available to all who will humble themselves (or be humbled) before Him. There is a lot to glean that is so evident from this story in this film about the thinking and culture of white Rhodesians. The acting is brilliant, I must say..

It seemed like Rhodesia was only Christian because…. well they couldn't be Muslim could they? What would the Queen think? "We must have religion, we can't be a people without religion, and we can't have a military without a Chaplin's corps! By Jove, what would the civilized world think if we didn't? It's all about perception chaps, we don't want any mention of personal convictions, repentance to Jesus and none of this getting heartfelt on any deep level because that's using religion as a crutch, you see. Priests in the army must look and talk the part, they are first and foremost ceremonial. So, yes chaps, let's tick that 'religion' box". ✔️

No self-respecting Christian should ever tolerate being called "religious". Religion by definition implies a life guided by external ritual and strict, suffocating procedures of law. That is not at all what Christianity is about. Christianity is about sincerity and truth towards God within one's heart that 'automatically' expresses in a righteous outward behaviour. That is why Christ so verbally-violently confronted the Pharisees, because they only cared about outward appearances. The Pharisees constantly tailored and measured their righteousness according to what man would think and not what God thinks.

God is concerned about the heart; right into the innermost 'chambers' of the heart and only He can see into the heart… The deep down thoughts, intents and true character of the man. These are often aspects that we don't even know about ourselves until the lord reveals them to us. Perhaps that is what Basil was wanting to know about himself as a young man. The Lord hates hypocrisy and pretence.

White Rhodesians were generally an efficient, effective and intelligent people, pricing it by effecting the entire construction of a modern nation… a fully-functioning system and infrastructure from nothing but bush land in under fifty years. Truly remarkable and commendable! However, their pride and hypocrisy were their downfall. In Rhodesian culture as long as you had certain redeeming qualities that were highly visible such as being good on the sports field (that was regarded as a particularly special aspect) or honoured militarily, then any debauchery or reveling at night, or behind the scenes, was allowed, overlooked or even lauded.

In the end Mugabe did persecute the white people, destroying much of their wealth and means to income, and it also must be said that he did nothing to help the majority of black people but brought only misery and the early death of millions. However, it is a sobering thought that perhaps the Lord also used Mugabe (and the perfidious British governments of the sixties and seventies) as a means to slowly destroy most of what the white Rhodesians had instituted and built, as a way to forcibly humble their hearts. It's never too late to repent and rebuild your life for Christ, no matter who you are.
