9:38 echoing truth is amazing against token decks
10:47 I can see three ways this is good, more protection in edh, lets you do etbs again, 1 mana means you don't need to hold up and spend a lot to protect the board
13:00 i think you mean bone shards, though bone shredder is a creature that does Terror on etb. Kamigawa was before we had good ways to remove indestructible so -x/-x mattered more.
15:10 both are words
Alter is a verb to change something.
Altar is a table or stone surface used in religious rituals.
Its strictly worse version of 5 cards: village rites (1mv), deadly dispute(can sac artifact or creatire, makes treasure also), corrupted conviction(1mv), costly plunder(can sac creature or artifact), nasty end(can draw more if saccing a legendary), and reckoner's bargain(can sac creature or artifact, gains life equal to sacced mv). It's not even the oldest of the 6.
I’ve seen Lord of Tresserhorn commander decks. Scorched Earth + Land Tax works.
Aether tide is not a bad card. It just depends on the deck. Recursion decks with things like living death where you WANT creatures in your graveyard is where this card shines. It becomes a two for one. Bounce and put creatures in your graveyard.
Dude. Bayou G is crazy good in mono green pauper
Any of the "sonic" cards like sonic seizure
carrion is awesome with coat of arms.
any card that lets you sacrifice a creature is a straight up bonus in the right deck
Urza's rage is so freaking good to most people. It does 50% of your opponents starting life pretty much guaranteed. If someone cannot find a way to win with that then good luck man, maybe magic isn't for them. The uncounterable 3 damage at instant speed makes it brilliant in some red decks that will rely on that damage and give you a back door win con. It is also a great sideboard option.
I could see annihilating glare being good in some aristocrat decks if it were instant speed
Endemic Plague is busted with Changelings.
Ashes to Ashes. 2B. As an addl cost, pay 5 life. Destroy two target creatures.
GREATLY underrated, btw.
Carrion to this day has my favourite flavour text in all Magic.
King or herder, the maggots care not.
36:00 I would like to have an apology, please! You gave me the buzzer on Barrel Down Sokenzan in the stream "worst mechanics in mtg." I believe it was a week or 2 ago. You gave me the buzzer and said this card was broken lmao I demand correction! I'm just joking btw lol. I just thought it was funny that now you're saying this card is really bad.
38:43 Hold on. If Kicker works, then Buy Back has to work. You said that at least kicker says in addition in its text box. But Buy Back says the exact same thing. Kicker just gives you a boost to the spell, whereas buy back just puts it back in your hand.
Instead is getting discount, WotC has made more “pay additional x unless you do y” – maybe as a way to circumvent cascade issue?
Devastating summon commonly shows as 1x / 2x in 8x bushwhackers deck.
10:40 you can sack a token and return all your good cards back to your hand during a boardwipe I guess
Carrion in "when a creature dies" or sacrifice decks?
Altar's Reap just sacrifices Undying or token creatures.
