As a fan of Junji Ito and the Arkham Horror franchise, World of Horror instantly drew me in, delivering terrifying encounters and paying homage to various horror-related works. If you’re not a fan of the game’s visuals, you can adjust them at the start of every playthrough, from black and white to green or beige. These options allow you to settle into your preferred visual style before diving headfirst into the unsettling world of horror, best enjoyed in a dark room in the dead of night for the ultimate spine-tingling experience.

  1. There are several content creators that have played World of Horror and I am enjoyed each of their gameplay videos a lot:

    -Vinny from Vinesauce

    – Ceres Fauna

    – Jesse Cox

    – Woolie VS

    – Northernlion

    – Pavola Reine

    – Millie Parfait

    – Josuiji Shinri

    – Retromation

  2. I really like the visuals but didn't find any fun in the gameplay. I felt like everything happens in the background and i bearly doing anything. It's not some informed critique but how i felt playing for 2-3 hours. Misteries and enemies doesn't seem to be connected to the global story it's all felt arbitrary i dunno. Maybe i need to try more but i don't get it at all.

  3. As someone who saw a vtuber play this and it went on sale on the 1.0 patch release, I bought it and played for a good 8 hours from midnight and man did I get sucked in. Even now I'm itching to go back home to unlock achievements and characters and speedrun to see all the secrets of this town….would be super meta if they had a mission where kids all got addicted to a new game and become zombies like the ramen or bulletin board mystery 😮

  4. This game is ruined by the retro aesthetic. I'm personally burnt out on this excuse for devs to be lazy. Everything is low res where they could have used a nice manga aesthetic with better graphics.

  5. As is, you can’t go wrong. Sales are expected to be good so hopefully we get more. The game is already set to be DLC heaven. I’d pay 20$ for 5-6 new mysteries and a playable character.

And with a full release comes more accessibility for mods, which is tantalizing. It’s text and MS Paint drawings, something a lot more people are capable of working with than most games.

  6. Man, I remember buying this years and thought it needed a lot of work. I feel like they put a lot of work in but didn't really add much to it all tbh. In fact I don't even remember the UI and visuals looking like this. They look worse.
