so the ammo has no casing and is just pressed together? – no, caseless ammo means soft case. The case actually there but it "disintegrates" with the shot, so you have no casing left. the made from materials like plastic(not exactly but similar) or polymer based. and common mith is "case ammo is flat" it can be flat, it can be round, what ever the fuck manufacturer wants. both have benefits.
and yeas caseless ammo does not have X prefix, because there will be no casing left. so it is irrelevant information to know.

The skill system in starfield appears to be a further dilluted version of fallout 4 where instead of perks having SPECIAL requirements to unlock and level requirements to upgrade them, they now have challenges to complete so that you can further upgrade the skill. So Bethesda has finally overcome the last remnants of conventional attributes.
