"Tropica is doing a lot for the environment" .. meanwhile during the video we see DOZENS OF TROPICA PLASTIC BAGS that are not recyclable by most factories. And even if they were, companies need to stop using plastic when it's not necessary. With 500k subscribers, you now have the power and the responsibility to make our hobby more eco-friendly. How do you keep BBA out at these temps? Its nr1 plague of planted discus tanks..
Also tip for the sand: Discus goes through sand a lot when eating, they'll suck it in and spit it out once they "filtered" the food piece from it. La Plata is really coarse and has some really sharp grains, really not good for Discus long term.
Suggestion is to go for more powdery sand, like JBL's Zanzibar white.
Also, no-no to mixing Discus is no longer a thing. There's a product called Discus Protector from Discusfood (made by some of the world's biggest Discus experts to time), a quick bath makes the mixing perfectly fine.
And please, don't buy Discus at your local LFS, always stick to reputable Discus sellers and always know where it was bred.

The background should probably be changed to black. They prefer dark areas so a black background would do better to make their colors pop.

Instead of RO water, can I use Distilled water mixed with regular tap water to reduce my TDS a bit? My Tap water has a TDS of 160, so if I Use 15 litres Distilled water in my 60 litres tank, I will be near 100 – 120 tds.

you should do a maintenance and update video on this tank. one of the hardest things with discus is to controlling the algae due to lights and temperature. would love to see how you guys keep it all in check and the work required.
The point with discus tanks is: a real mangrove will put oxygen from the leaves in to the roots. And takes huge amount of nitrates and phosphate's put of the water. In the wild they preserve the bottom to get to anaerobically and prevent the forming of to much H2s. Thinking and pretending a dead root does the same?
A real planted discus tank has tea collored water and real mangroves in it.

too much hardscape or aquarium is too small, limited space for the discus to swim. specially when they grow big.
I've had so many stupid rummy tetras jump from these set ups. Gonna lose a rummy every day to jumping.

Going to tell all you people right now that discus and planted tanks especially high tech tanks like this never workout long term for the fishes life and health. These fish will struggle in this tank. Especially co2 fed tanks. Beautiful scape but these discus won’t become true beauties in it
Nice video! However, I do not agree with the theory that you should buy your fish from the same breeder. If the "germs" should not get along, this is due to poor, sterile breeding and the associated degnerated immune system of the fish.
