An American living in Japan stumbles upon an old dwelling in the remote countryside. Inside, a woman sits motionless in a chair for days on end. Seeing an opportunity to profit from his discovery, he creates a haunted tourism business for the wealthy, but it soon becomes clear that the mystery behind “the woman in the chair” is not a benevolent one, as her observers begin succumbing to a curse.
