Woman found murdered inside car with her unharmed child nearby

Vancouver police say a woman who was found dead inside a car with a small child last week was killed.

Officers were called shortly before 4:30 a.m. to North Blandford Drive just south of East Evergreen Boulevard on Friday, Nov. 1.

Police said the child was uninjured but are investigating the mother’s death as a homicide.

Officials identified the woman as 31-year-old Courtney Valencia Clinton of Portland. The medical examiner said she died from lacerations on her neck.

Clinton’s death comes nearly four months after her brother, 25-year-old Donte Mathis, was shot and killed in the Madison South Neighborhood of Portland.

  1. What a weird interview. This isn't some cheery story. Like honestly you guys filmed, edited and watched this back and thought this was the way to go? A woman died and were yelling I love it over and over. I get the context but the messaging is still weird.
