  1. Woo hoo! Finally an e-bike with the motor where it should be. I predict some happy miles ahead Wolfman. That bike is a steal & a half for $1300. The alternative to that tail light wire is remembering batteries or charging. "Up to 20 mph" walk assist? More like run assist;) That lack of backpedal is a freewheel in the motor, without it you'd have to pedal as fast as the motor is turning the chainring. IMO flaws, if any, can be forgiven at $1300. Don't judge mid-drive torque against a hub motor. Using low gears increases torque with a mid-drive. Wolfman, with torque assist & no throttle you'll be able to keep up but you'll get some excercise doing it (ease into it).
Looking forward to seeing the riding duo vids.
I'm still hoping for a DIY build with a mid-drive. I've done 2, so far, and I don't have your skills or tools.

  2. I know all about the gut getting in the way, was installing a bracket at work and noticed the production workers were wandering around looking confused, I accidentally pushed an e-stop with my belly and shut down the entire line😂

  3. I know I am probably a minority here, but I severely dislike any ebike with a 'custom format/size/shape' battery. The moment the manufacturer goes out of business you're SOL, and even if they stay in business you're just committed yourself to their closed ecosystem where they can charge any 'premium' they want.

I put a tsdz2b on a 27.5 Giant Talon, with a universal 'shark'-like battery, it's been rock solid for me. Cheaper as any new ebike even this 'budget' one ( how expensive are the battery replacements? ), can do it to most frames and when something needs replacing you can pick whatever at the time makes the most economical sense.. instead of having to choose between a terrible and an even worse 'option' from some manufacturer offering 'custom format' battery's.

Sure, it looks clean those internal batteries, but those bikes are bound to go to a landfill the moment their 'support' ends.

Eventually this bs will get regulated, just like when we regulated phone chargers to be universal.

That being said, 1300 for a 'nice' new ebike is pretty good. No way we would get those prices in Europe though.

  4. Usually on the bafangs the light controll is holding down one of the buttons, iirc the assist down one. If the 250w isnt enough for wolfman find him a bafang m620 / ultra equipped bike!

  5. I rented a trail ebike like 2 years ago. It was a hardtail and it was a mullet. But the rear tire was 27,5×2,8, so it was basically the same size as the front 29”. It also had the Raidon but a 130mm version. It was great. And the rear kushy tire made it very smooth on roots and rocks.

  6. I use that same brand of tires on my mtb and they're well made. Also tell Wolfman to be careful on lose sand or dirt on paved or concrete trails will cause the rear of the bike to come out from underneath him

  7. i'm 6'5 and built a fat ebike around an XL frame the only thing i dont like is the standover. it's a lot of effort to get on and of the super tall frame….BUT it insanely comfortable

I'll say that the price of the bike its good….but its basically just an aliexpress build.

With that said I have a 1000w/52A build and I have plenty of power and on reasonable pedal assist i get about 50 miles of range. throttle only gives me about 20 miles
