Uncle Si and Big Dave, John–David’s dad, compare stories from their military experiences, which prompts Si to fondly relive his time at basic training. Big Dave reveals that he used to work with Willie and expected that he wouldn’t amount to much, though Big Dave is happy he was proven wrong! Nothing fires Martin and John–David up like talking about fried food and Big Dave holds the title of master fryer and outdoor cooking guru. The boys give advice to a fan who coincidentally asks for advice about running his own fishing and tackle shop.

Mine was squashed, I had to sit at the table until I ate the squash my mother made and didn't like, I love fried squash today.
Welcome JD dad nice to meet you
You need to gag Si so the guest can talk we never get to hear the guest.
Hello Guys…Listening to you talk about my parents generation and my generation brings back memories. My father- in- law owned his own paint and body shop besides working for BF Goodrich. He would weld or work on an engine with no shirt on. I heard a couple of weeks ago that mens Testosterone levels were higher back then and it shows how much its dropped when you compare the male generation of today. Really enjoyed the Podcast tonight.
Love the military. Glad I did my 20 in the Navy! 😂
So neat to see John David’s dad he is so much like Mac Owen they even sound alike when there talking
Fort Benning is eight hour from me in south Georgia
It Ccc would have been so nice if JD’s Dad could have talked. Someone else dominated the conversation 😡
The great Joe Walsh of the Eagles always says at a concert, "I had more fun being 20 in the 70's than I do being 70 in the 20's." Uncle Si reminded me of that when he said if could go back he'd go to that time because it was the best years of his life.
Johnny D seems very proud of his dad! Awesome to see 👍👍
I watched the blind movie yesterday with my friends. I give my life to the Lord again tonight.
My parent's was born in 1931 and 1937 and the way i was raised vs the way that some of the people i know were raised are very different. My dad was stationed in germany for a years himself so what you say about that being a different generation is very true
Si, if you don't know, the US government had a lot to do with how much it rained when yall were in veitnam. Project Popeye, weather manipulation which they are now using to convince the masses that climate change is real
I feel crazy saying this, but I think next time you have a guess you need to not have Uncle si on nobody can get a word in edgewise!
I remember gun racks with guns in the truck when I was a kid. My dad had one. I’m only 50 so that was at least the 1970’s can’t remember if he would still do that in the 80’s because he didn’t hunt much the older I got.
I was a method addict for 7 years I started at 15, yall talking about numbing the anger hit my heart. Since I stopped my rage mode kicks in constantly, plus I'm working through college on 3 hours of sleep many days. Anger and hate are probably top three struggles for me as a person tryna recover from what I've done to myself
Si please let your company talk a little 😅
Big dave
I’d really like to hear Dave talk 🤷🏼♀️love you Si
Love hearing Uncle Si's stories! ❤
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the guests talk😫😫😫 I think maybe Si doesnt think about the fact that we dont know these people, and we WANT to. We hear about Big Dave, Burly, etc. When we see one of them is on the podcast, we get excited to get to know them. But Si monopolizes the conversation. I fast forward through the majority of these guest episodes because Si wont let them talk. I ADORE Si, but PLEEEEEZE have a conversation with him about this❤
Uncle si usually low key and only talk when asked something. When they have a guest he hijacks the whole show lol.
JD actually acted like a sane mature adult (because his dad was there)
SI PLEASE LET THE GUEST TALK ,YOU CUT OFF EVERYONE,,, WHEN BURLEY WAS ON HE COULD NOT SAY ANYTHING ,,,SI OVER TALKS ALL GUESTS ,,,I LOVE SI BUT STOP OVER TALKING THE GUESTS OR STOP BRINGING GUESTS ON 😡
We need more si war stories
I love these guys and all the stories 💕💕💕
Oh my Si just brought back Vietnam memories suntan waist up, and rain oh my , praying to be dry. 1969 1st. INF div.
Fantastic episode yall 💯🤙🏻
Love ya and God Bless everyone ❤☮️
My father was an Iron Worker and he welded in his undershirt at times and did not own one without small burn holes in it.
Best moment, Big Dave's facial expression when asked if John David was a momma's boy!
Wowza Uncle Si is full up today! I love him but could you do some without Uncle Si so we could hear your guest speak Holy Moly
This has to be one of my favorite episodes. love it when yall talk about the old times. this new generation. some know nothin about it.
Uncle Si takes over every conversation. It's hilarious.
JD must take after his Mom. His Dad is waaay more manly than he ever thought about being. JD is the kid that was on the cheer squad or flags in the band. Girlie type! JDs dad…find him something to do, cause he stinks (literally) up the podcast! When JDs was talking about Willie never amounting to anything, I wonder if he felt the same way about JD? The only thing JD could do would be eat, stink, and maybe do Tampax or PMS commercials!
Uncle Si, Fort Benning hadn’t changed much in regards to running everywhere when I went through Basic there in 2011, not very much of the so called walking done at Fort Benning’s school for boys. Thank you for Your Service Uncle Si, you and your fellow Vietnam Brothers didn’t get the gratitude you deserved, I have an Uncle who served in Vietnam and unfortunately he passed due to complications from Agent Orange. From this OEF veteran your service is greatly appreciated! Thank you all for what you do and I enjoy the podcast every week.
Yeah, my dad used to well and I sat down watching the sparks hit his chess with the shirt on. He had hair on his chest and sometimes they’ll burn his hair on his chest. It was crazy. He said Sonia would do. It never wears a shirt with a pocket it never put a cigarette lighter in your shirt pocket cause it will blow up.
My dad, Jack Treasure Senior was in Vietnam war. He was an army tank dude he told me stories about it.❤❤❤❤
My father was in the army and we thank you for all the people who served
When I got in trouble at school in the 80s I got in trouble when I got home
And we could leave our doors unlocked at night
We should definitely collaborate and chat Bigfoot soon!
