Willie Robertson Gave Himself a Concussion & Uncle Si Loved Every Minute of It | Duck Call Room #282

Uncle Si and Big Dave, John–David’s dad, compare stories from their military experiences, which prompts Si to fondly relive his time at basic training. Big Dave reveals that he used to work with Willie and expected that he wouldn’t amount to much, though Big Dave is happy he was proven wrong! Nothing fires Martin and John–David up like talking about fried food and Big Dave holds the title of master fryer and outdoor cooking guru. The boys give advice to a fan who coincidentally asks for advice about running his own fishing and tackle shop.

  1. Hello Guys…Listening to you talk about my parents generation and my generation brings back memories. My father- in- law owned his own paint and body shop besides working for BF Goodrich. He would weld or work on an engine with no shirt on. I heard a couple of weeks ago that mens Testosterone levels were higher back then and it shows how much its dropped when you compare the male generation of today. Really enjoyed the Podcast tonight.

  2. The great Joe Walsh of the Eagles always says at a concert, "I had more fun being 20 in the 70's than I do being 70 in the 20's." Uncle Si reminded me of that when he said if could go back he'd go to that time because it was the best years of his life.

  3. My parent's was born in 1931 and 1937 and the way i was raised vs the way that some of the people i know were raised are very different. My dad was stationed in germany for a years himself so what you say about that being a different generation is very true

  4. Si, if you don't know, the US government had a lot to do with how much it rained when yall were in veitnam. Project Popeye, weather manipulation which they are now using to convince the masses that climate change is real

  5. I remember gun racks with guns in the truck when I was a kid. My dad had one. I’m only 50 so that was at least the 1970’s can’t remember if he would still do that in the 80’s because he didn’t hunt much the older I got.

  6. I was a method addict for 7 years I started at 15, yall talking about numbing the anger hit my heart. Since I stopped my rage mode kicks in constantly, plus I'm working through college on 3 hours of sleep many days. Anger and hate are probably top three struggles for me as a person tryna recover from what I've done to myself

  7. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the guests talk😫😫😫 I think maybe Si doesnt think about the fact that we dont know these people, and we WANT to. We hear about Big Dave, Burly, etc. When we see one of them is on the podcast, we get excited to get to know them. But Si monopolizes the conversation. I fast forward through the majority of these guest episodes because Si wont let them talk. I ADORE Si, but PLEEEEEZE have a conversation with him about this❤

  9. JD must take after his Mom. His Dad is waaay more manly than he ever thought about being. JD is the kid that was on the cheer squad or flags in the band. Girlie type! JDs dad…find him something to do, cause he stinks (literally) up the podcast! When JDs was talking about Willie never amounting to anything, I wonder if he felt the same way about JD? The only thing JD could do would be eat, stink, and maybe do Tampax or PMS commercials!

  10. Uncle Si, Fort Benning hadn’t changed much in regards to running everywhere when I went through Basic there in 2011, not very much of the so called walking done at Fort Benning’s school for boys. Thank you for Your Service Uncle Si, you and your fellow Vietnam Brothers didn’t get the gratitude you deserved, I have an Uncle who served in Vietnam and unfortunately he passed due to complications from Agent Orange. From this OEF veteran your service is greatly appreciated! Thank you all for what you do and I enjoy the podcast every week.

  11. Yeah, my dad used to well and I sat down watching the sparks hit his chess with the shirt on. He had hair on his chest and sometimes they’ll burn his hair on his chest. It was crazy. He said Sonia would do. It never wears a shirt with a pocket it never put a cigarette lighter in your shirt pocket cause it will blow up.
