Honestly, this company really disappointed me. I thought we would have seasons of new temtems. I thought each season would add a new generation of temtems and continue with a new story, etc. But from what I understand about the company, it’s not going that way. Unfortunately, what would make players come back to play would be new temtems and the continuation of the story. I just stopped playing because I once asked about it and they said there won't be a second generation of temtems. So for me the game is over.
I got temtem on sale a few weeks ago and just made my way to Arbury and I have to say from my experince so far the only way I have been able to keep pansuns in my pocket is due to the freetems if they make a change to it then I'm worry about how grindy it will be to get pansuns especially for new players
Sadly I won't play it myself until you can play it without the need for paying the NSO
I’m with you on this one. I’ve played temtem since alpha but dropped it almost 2 months ago because there’s nothing exciting in the game right now for pve and this update sounds very lackluster. If there’s no eventual more story/islands/temtem I’ll play to catch the new mythical and drop it again
It’s just me, but if the game wasn’t so damn hard I’d be playing it more often lol. Ball shattering getting crushed by normal mobs and the gym battles are ridiculous 😢😂
Just add new story please I'd willing keep playing if they did that.
Them not adding any significant PVE content is such a bad decision imo. No new tems, no new locations, and no new story, but focusing on pvp that's declining just doesn't make sense. The game feels really stagnated
I think the biggest problem is that people try to view Temtem through the Pokemon lens, but Crema has made it clear that they're very different games. Pokemon centers around PVE with friendly cooperative action. Temtem on the other hand, has always been focused on PVP and a great story. The removal of randomization and it's stamina mechanic (created from the beginning) was intended to make the PVP experience better. They're focus is the tournaments right now. I'm certain Crema would never release an update the size of Pokemon, and even if they do choose to release new tems, I would expect a handful of tems at most every 3-4 years. The people arguing for this would still be unhappy. Ultimately, they're not the audience Crema is catering to.
Im on the 2nd last island. I really want to finish the game but Im a single player dude and its obvious this was for the multiplayer crowd
The randomizer was initially tied to the nuzlocke??? Doesn't everyone agree that randomizer nuzlocke are kind of extreme?
I should have tried refunding the game when they added the battle pass. No game needs a battle pass and they're just frustrating and annoying. Temtem is fine, but holy shit they made some weird decisions for that game
Sucks that you always have to have an internet connection. If you live in a earlier where there's no wifi, you're screwed. I lost interest in the gave after a while.
This game should have an offline option. Thats why I never bought the game. If they ever shut the servers down all your tems are gone just like that.
The problem is the game is focus in PVP not in PVE
I respect the devs' commitment and guts by making Temtem an MMO, but my advice is if/when they decide to make Temtem 2 they should make it a single player offline game.
What killed Temtem for me was the SVs, the egg-only breeding skills and the AH. Whenever I saw new Temtems out in the wild, I didn't really feel like catching more than one of each for the "pokedex" because I knew that whatever I catch will still be inferior to the breeded versions.
The game basically tells you to grind hours and hours for Pansun to buy Temtems on the AH or spend even more hours in trying to breed them yourselves. The casual "wow, cool Temtem, I'm gonna catch it and try it out" doesn't really exist. Moreover, if you are spending a ton of hours in order to get a "good" version of a Temtem, then you need to know that it will be worth it – how do you know that if you haven't played with it? You study it online wikipedias or look at guides. This is a Pokemon game for christ's sake.
Gym leader ed if you see this there are 2 pokemon fan games that i want you to check out. They are hidden gems like no one knows about them but they are so fun and the creator is genius. Like he wants to make his new version of his first game playable for the partialy blind and figured out a way to attempt that and as far as i know no one else is trying that.
The names are pokemon fantasy version and pokemon radiant version they are on pokecomunity
Raidiant is unique becuase it had a skill system and there is no set path and a lot of quests and its 4.0 version is finished, but the creator Swdfm ia making a new version but it cant use the saves from 4.0 becuase its so different
The thing that stops me from buying Temtem is the price. I didn't have the cash to purchase the game back when it was $20 and now it costs $45. As someone who isn't interested in PvP or luma hunting the game just doesn't seem like a good buy when I compare it to something like Cassette Beasts that costs half as much.
I want a temtem that's an actual regular rpg, not an MMO. Honestly if I was gonna MMO, it'd be one that looks a lot better than temtem.
Small indie team, MMO and PVP focused, Battle passes. That is not a good recipe for a solid game. Shame, it was really fun in the beginning.
I remember getting into Temtem heavily on switch release. I went in mostly blind, and realized almost instantly how challenging it was compared to pokemon. That threw many off, but i stuck with for a while.
I got through the main story and the most BS quests. I made it all the way to tamers paradise, hatched/trained up temtem with the best stats. I got the mythicals and many luma.
But my issues throughout the switch playthrough: 1) Instability 2)The difficulty throughout the story and nobody i know wants to play it 3) I had to learn everything myself and through guides/reddit 4) an insane amount of patience and hope to believe this game would make it. 5) Complete weekly gym and elite 4 battles to maintain some kind of pansun and feathers.
I never liked PvP as much, but i didnt suck. Mostly the grind for Lumas and patience for other things killed it for me. Also, no friends joined in and lambasted the game in comparison to pokemon.
Its a bittersweet game and the online aspect isnt going to work in the long run. Seeing this video reignited so many memories. Im glad i gave temtem a try, but after 200ish hours, its hard to tell if it was worth it or not.
I like the non nuzlocke randomizer, but i care not for the mythical because i hate the lair system.
Temtem’s PvP is one of my favourite experiences, I’m a former top end of diamond player with 1300 hours in the game, I haven’t really played since about January.
For me, the game started to become uninteresting with time partly because of the insane grind, partly because even within the PvP balance patches, the meta either didn’t change due to under tuning, or changed in such a defining way that the meta was easily seen within the patch notes making the team building more boring. Because of this, I definitely believe that unless they are willing to add more Tems to the game, even the PvP which is some of my favourite PvP strategy gameplay, will and really has become stale. Groups of new tems would be interesting because there would be that layer of meta discovery that just doesn’t happen when balance patch notes are given to us so exactly as they are.
I do truly believe I’d only come back to the game if I had someone to co-op with or if they added something truly new like an island or routes with new tems.
I ADORE this game, but there is just currently nothing left for a team building PvP player such as myself, and the grind just isn’t worth the payoff unless there is new tems for me to explore new team ideas with. I’m certain that if they ever decide to add genuine NEW content I’ll be there.
It’s unfortunate TemTem just has a priority for online play and PvP. It’s not enough to get people to keep playing. Monster taming games get a lot of benefit for being or including single player aspects for those of us who can’t be online at all times. At the same time game doesn’t feel like a full mmo 😢
I used to be obsessed with this game, and I feel awful for not playing it anymore mainly bc my gf bought the ps5 edition for me for Xmas and I have barely touched it :/
Temtem helped me discover Pokemmo. That is one of the big positives of playing it looking back 😂
Since I already play and make content for it(PVP), I'll probably be playing a bit more than I usually do nowadays. Even I don't play much right now cause there really isn't much to do. There is some QOL stuff coming, but for a more casual player that doesn''t have 8000+ hours on temtem like I do… yeah they will try the update if they are far enough then dip out because the new mythical will most likely be super end game.
I'm glad I'm not alone in my gripes with the always online model for the Temtem game, having read a lot of the comments here.
Will it update the humans to look like non-garbage?
I feel the best way to save temtem is make the game free. Thats it. I bought the game in 2020 but I'm just now starting it, and I don't plan to play after I'm done since they don't plan on adding more PvE (Other then the mythical and arcade bar).
I do enjoy this game, but it's my least favorite out of all the monster taming games solely because of it being an MMO and all its FOMO micro transactions.
im definitely only playing to get the mythical and finish my tempedia. then im probably dropping it for good unless the temtem showdown urge hits but with how less time consuming it is to just…use pokemon showdown, i dont see a point.
if youre making a battle sim it should been like pokemon showdown, just sprites & no animations. and if you wanna see all that you buy and play the ACTUAL game. also tamers paradise is such a letdown. this entire game has been varying levels of letdown that makes it collective not an enjoyable solo experience
I want temtem on android
They should copy pokemmo
Sad to see where the game ended up. About MMO – I see a lot of people criticize crema for going so hard on the genre, but we need to remember that this genre was really important in marketing and was actually what people thought they wanted to see. Remember all those fantasies about amazing pokemon-like MMO so many people had? A lot of us wanted an MMO, and only later realised that this is not a good idea. Creating an MMO game is like a trap for devs, it sounds cool on paper, but in practice this is a dying not-sustainable genre. In the end this is where we ended up, because all of the dreams we had, which where doomed from the beginning.
I bought this on Steam a few years ago, and I don't know why. I see that most of you take issue with the MMO aspects, but I'm more bothered by the designs and art style. They don't work for me.
Still, the developers clearly put a lot of effort into this game. Kudos.
My biggest problem with temtem is that not only is it a mmo but 60 ish dollar game but feels like it has lease than modern pokemon like I feel like there are less wild tamers in temtem then pokemon and there isn't a benefit for the mmo feature like there is no help will puzzles or cross breeding or anything it is just online like or anything
I played it for like 700 hours mostly competitive.
The grind was too much and the temtems getting constantly nerfed did not help, also the format is always the same so it just gets boring. They also replaced the trade chat for the auction house which is way worse, the game crashes quite a bit, the addition of the battlepass is a joke, everything costs a fortune and the lack of new content for the future killed the game.. i gotta say tho i had an amazing time when i used to play it
