  1. While the crypto mining boom led to GPU demand prior, now I think it’s AI neural networks that will fuel the next wave. So to me, I’m concluding that the answer is unfortunately ‘no’, and that we need to accept GPU’s are no longer primarily just for gamers.

  2. The result of building more PCMR is that more income joins the group. Drives prices up. If you’re struggling to pay bills you should probably be paying off your debt and not buying a graphics card.
One of the problems with the tech shows is that it normalizes spending 1000s on tech. A lot of people who watch these shows need to invest for their retirement rather than trying to keep up with the Jones next door.

  3. With regards to your office location, it doesn’t really matter to me. The quality and content of your videos has always been great, and I don’t suspect location would change it. I’m sure your community will follow and support you whatever you choose. I know I will.

  4. My guide for a GPU is that I am not paying more for my GPU than my RAM, CPU, MOBO, PSU combined. So right now the GPU needs to be less then $700 & 2x the performance of what I have got or I am not buying it.

  5. Brooooo, Paul, the new Lego Channel actually sounds like a great idea, for you. There will definitely be some crossover to help start you off and if you get yourself into YT shorts, you could grow your Sub count pretty quickly, if it's done right. I'm not saying I know what tf I'm talking about hahaha, but I've just seen some people rocket up their sub count pretty quickly in recent times with shorts and I think you would be perfect some fun Lego content. Even if, honestly, it might not be for me, I still think you could kill it!

  6. I am sure that GPU prices will go to the same route as cell phones.
New GPU are sold low end $500, Middle range $1000, Highend $2000, super highend $3500+
    And one year later $400, $800, $1600, $2999
    Two years later $300, $ 500, $1000, $2000
    And tree years later $200, $400, $700, $1500

Or something like that. Aka milk customer really hard at first year. Milk customer hard at secon year and after that move to normal prices and tiny discounts after that.
Just wait 5000 series to make that happen!

  7. I really don't get why AMD did not take advantage of the stupid high prices that Nvidia was asking for their cards and offer much less expensive options? This seemed like a no brainer for a shot at claiming a large chunk of the market and yet greed won over once again. Had they offered the XTX for 800 (or even 700 for a real slap in the face to Nvidia) bucks and the XT for 600 or less, they would have ruled the current market. Seriously, what the hell AMD?

  8. Lego's own promotion material politely requests people use the term "Lego bricks", or just "Lego" as the plural.

    Just saiyan.

I too love Lego and had a massive collection as a kid. I haven't used it in many years though as I started playing Minecraft to scratch the block-based building itch.

    No.

Eventually the only person who be able to afford a graphics card will be Elon Musk. The rest of us will have given up technology entirely, and gone back to playing with marbles.

.. remember in 2015 when a 1080 was 900 dollars.. and it sounded ludicrous.. yet in hindsight you could still be rockin that card today and doing ok? yet now something equivalent to that now is $3000?
    … its insane
