Another fun training session on the lure as well as the drone too. We test whether Diesel has an interest in the lure or the drone. The Staffy girls have their turn, it’s a whole lot of fun. And Rosco shows us how high he can really jump after the drone.

I hope you all don’t mind me mentioning here for those that might be interested, Diesel is up for adoption and looking for a loving home of his own that is not quite as crowded as ours. He’s a more mature boy and he would personally much prefer a smaller crowd. The nature of our very large and very young pack is too much for him to relax.
We continue to train and give him the best life we can within our family/life parameters, but this boy would love a more quiet home with a big area to chase a few birds. He’s not asking for much. He’s super low maintenance even though he’s a working dog … he exercises himself and he has great manners and a lovely soft and affectionate nature.
We appreciate the fact that our local audience only makes up a very small 16% so we cannot reach too many new people who would be suitable (geographically) but if you happen to know someone looking to welcome a new member in their family, we’d love for you to let them know about Diesel.

Roscoe is an awesome high jumper. Abra got into the lure real quick like, and Shadow she is an amazing sprinter. Matilda always amazes me with her agility.

With every successive jump my concern for Rosco's cruciate ligaments grew and grew. 😟 But then again I am a card carrying member of the worrywart society…I'll likely be elected society President very soon. LOL!!!

Luke, how high do you think Rosco was jumping? Diesel knows what games he likes to play – chasing birds!!!
When Matilda sees that string take off she locks on brilliantly. Her ability to keep her eye on the prize & have her body keep up is stunning to watch. It would be interesting to measure her ability against others if that were possible. What makes her so brilliant at this – is it her athleticism, her cognitive ability or both?

Rosco’s like a middle linebacker, speed , range, and power. He’s like the Brian Urlacher of dogs.
Worry a bit about Roscoe' s leaps. Have witnessed frisbee dogs come down on their back feet with a twisting motion that can damage their rear legs. Just an observation.
Are you concerned about Abra doing too much activity for her growing body? Aren't we usually told to wait until their growth plates are ore developed (or something like that?). She is super smart but her body is still puppy. Thanks for the input
I wonder if you could buy a second spool so you tie the rope to the lure on both ends. As you run the course and one spool "winds in" then the other spool "lets out" You then just swap the spools on the machine so you don't have to reset the course? I'm lucky enough to be less than 1km from a lure coursing club. My boy (Australian pig dog generic mongrel 😛 ) definitely needs more training, he runs half the course, sees a human then wants to go over for a pat instead

Roscoe has springs in those legs! Matilda is SO good at the lure—it's great fun to watch her. Shadow looks like she's not that fast, but boy can she ever sprint!
