Time to figure out what our lumber industry is going to look like.

Just started seeing it
Pips are cool
Your -10 polluted water will freeze and break pipes once cleaned to regular water, instead send all 10kg of p water through the warming box which may need a space heater since your o2 needs aren’t that high
behold: The tree power-inator!
I think I always thought of pips as rodents and not cats 🙂
love the videos Echo Ridge Gaming love the series. hope you keep up the good work and keep yourself healthy both mentally and physically. and if a break is needed from making content then i belive most people would understand, id rather have a few good quality videos like this than mass produced low quality videos.
I'm not sure a oxidiser generates enough heat to have much effect on the water temperature. Changing liquid temp with gas is generally ineffective.
It's well worth putting some wires down for the slug plugs with you needing so little power at present. Reduces the hamster wheel time for the dupes.
Does the smart battery turn off the hydrogen generator? If so, do you have a way to deal with the hydrogen build-up before it gets into the oxgen supply lines?
@Echo for your Arbor tree farm don't forget you can do both domestic and wild, 5 domestic 4 wild. that would decrease the overhead cost while you still don't have slicksters. Also with your S.P.O.M. if you had placed the hydrogen generator and battery in the room that you are using to heat up the cold polluted water it would be a little better for getting good temps. and then you could run all the cold water in even before sieving for the electrolyzer.
Ah yes my weekly dopamine
I'm curious how many dupes/bathroom trips per cycle you'd need to make up the water deficit from the petroleum generator to feed the trees.
You should slap a power line through the plug slug prison, it won't be much but it's free power!
Hey just found you – praise the algorithm.
I like this type of video very much. You go over the maths first then implement it. It is a little of a shame, that klei gives things in per cycle and not in per second, so I am glad when someone goes trough the maffs to distill it down. That being said, why dont you just put the 100°C pwater into the pwater that feed the trees? The temp should be swallowed by the higher mass. Maybe put a valve after the pump, so the flow is continuous and a valve before the trees, so just the right ammount of pwater reaches them (that and insulated pipes should limit the influence of hot feed)
the position of your electrolyzer could also be changed to next to the pwater geyser, so you can use the continuous chill better than killing it with a tepedizer.
may i suggest feeding the polluted dirt from the distilleries to sanishells? on death they release 4000 kcal of crab meat, which can be turned into 6400 kcal of cooked seafood and then 24000 kcal of surf n'turf. and also gives the seafood diet bonus
Thank you for taking the time to go through all of the math of wild vs farmed trees and considerations for both. That sort of thing really helps me out! I'm enjoying this new series!
I’m not sure if you have the tech unlocked but remember we spoke on one of your lives about using mesh tiles under your electroliser so if any bad water gets in it’s easily seen and doesn’t over-pressurise the electrolyser
As it turns out, Designer Citrus Spandex is my favorite!
On a serious note I love the tree/pip farm to EtOH distillery set up (and sending the pdirt to pokeshells for lime; love the new sanishells that turn it into meat) but I always end up not needing the EtOH in late midgame (around when nuclear or petrol boiler comes online) so I'm interested in what you do with it! I've resorted to making spicy tofu but it kinda doesn't seem worth it.
Very cool ideas as usual, I have never looked at the ethanol for power idea before, I may have to have a go at it now!
Thanks for another great video to enjoy!
Background tasks, huh? 🙂
Pips have always seemed more like squirrels or chipmunks than cats to me, not surprised that's what they're called in code. – Explains why I lovingly shout Pip! (same tone as "Squirrel!") when I see one. hehee.
Stoked life is giving me some free time to binge, I've missed some Echos' ONI in my life! XD
Hope you and yours are doing well. Best of wishes.
It’s so weird I have never seen an open air electrolyzer before lol
You should have added the math if you add the farming station or whatever to the trees although I don’t think you have access to the fertilizers yet
Luv your video
Regarding those Arbor Trees: because each tree has seven "slots" for branches (one of which is vertical, on the top), but a maximum of five actually growing branches, you can place them slightly closer together — instead of having them always have a two-tile gap, you can plant them in groups of three, with separations within a group being only a single tile and only having two-tile gaps between trios, and still get full branch output. It takes a little more micromanagement at planting time, since you have to uproot the occasional branch until they're growing appropriately, but once it's set up it's stable and, like I said, you still get full growth.
