To kick off my YouTube channel I called my friends at Wichita, Kansas Fire Department and set up a couple ride alongs. The first was a 24-hour shift with Rescue Company 1 on the southeast side of the city. We responded to more calls than I could include in this video, which gives you a behind the scenes look at life inside the WFD.

Eric, I’ve been to numerous fires over the years, including one at a car recycling facility. I also went to a fire that was intentionally set before the homeowner committed suicide.
And reading smoke can help you identify where the fire is in connection with your location on the fireground.
God bless our first responders.
Fantastic work! I’m looking forward to seeing your next videos!
is this the mountain rescue unit or do they do ocean rescue?
I'm thinking of how long it takes to pass and receive the truck equipment between shifts. We're here checking just one engine's equipment for at least 15 minutes.
Typical county fire station with water damage and mold lol
More of this , this could be the start of an epic series , this could really start something here eric! 🔥
Great work Eric! Love the content. Best pio around.
hey what vest/ bunker gear are you wearing i am a fire photographer and really need one of this because of how much trash i get on me lol
My dad was a retired ff in Wichita. After he passed I got his badge tattooed on my right shoulder so he is still looking out for me! He's got my back permanently now lol
That lazy Susan is the first time I’ve ever seen a US fire vehicle with any sort of decent clever storage system. Usually they are full of wasted space. Also, US firefighting seems very strange in how it operates.
Eric this video was top notch. I absolutely love this style of content of all day ride alongs. Keep up the great work, nice to see you on your own channel!
Dude that is awesome. Glad the algorithm brought you by! Looking forward to more man !!

Feel free to swing by Hays, KS on your way back home! It’s be great to see a smaller town or rural fire department. Heck, maybe even Cal Fire?
do you still work for south metro pio?
Well from what I've known for being a firefighter for just a little bit over two years is that a called can come out at any time there is no time to prepare yourself for because I could be 10 in the morning or it can be midnight or 6 in the afternoon or there could be no call at all it's just what it is
Nearly 100k views. Great work Eric 🎉
何故アメリカでは「消防士」は公務員ではないのだろう? 社会インフラを支える重要な役割だと思うのだが…
That camera in the rear is bad ass. The boys in back get real time views of the front. Beautiful rig 😍
Is this a new video. Or was the video in the beginning from the rig dated 2019 old b roll
That is 45 south of my home town.
Great video!
In Germany we say
Rüstwagen😂😂
Eric bro I watch smfr and I live in Wichita Kansas this is cool
Firefighters and EMTs are this world’s living angels. Nothing but respect and admiration. My cousin is a firefighter here in Texas. Subscribed!
Told you so 🏙 🔥👙🚺 🫦 Mario 🩲🐍
That "public relations" move by allowing the birthday party to climb aboard Rescue was priceless…a "win, win for everyone."
Gimme a text when you get back. I'd like to see your camera and audio set up please.
If someone on the job stateside could answer a question for me: What’s the rationale/reasoning for apparatus to run emergency lights while returning to quarters after a call? Noticed it seems to be quite common for departments in the US.
Love the content btw Eric, great to see you doing your own thing as well as your great PIO work for SMFR 👌🏻
Insane when you complain it to German fire trucks😮
There all just hero's
That is a really big engine. You sound very smart with your job

That's insane they don't have different tones for fire vs EMS. Hopefully someone can fix that.
Alot of nice trucks but nobody cleans their helmets or turnouts?
