  1. I bought the Zelda version of that musical dungeon game and just can't get into the attack to the beat. Ended up finding out you can actually turn the musical attack off and just played it that way, it was almost like a actual Zelda game. Thanks for the review all the same.

  2. If you're interested in this one and have a PC, I'd recommend that version as in that one you can actually import any song you want in free play mode and get a level generated around it. And from what I've seen, it actually works pretty well too

  3. I know it's advertised as having 140 songs that changes how dungeons and combat are. But if it had a way to import music on the sd card this would be a must buy but as it is I'll rather wait for a good sale.

  4. Spot on review. I've been enjoying this one as a sort of daily "loading game." I throw myself into a few levels in order to start my game day right, with some solid music and enjoyable play. I'm one of those people who just doesn't feel right if I don't get some solid music time each day (from what I've learned about biology and the brain, I literally think there's a lifelong addiction there, albeit a healthy one), so this game helps ensure I get that in.

It definitely is best enjoyed a few songs at a time, though. I could see myself burning out if I tried to rush through this as quickly as possible for, say, an upcoming review, ha. Good on you for getting this one right.

  5. This is such an interesting mashup but I don't think it's the right combination of genres. Dungeon crawlers like this are not typically appealing to the same audience of rhythm games. Crypt of the Necrodancer was the exception, not the rule.

  6. Just wanted to add… rhythm games don't necessarily need music you love to be good. I pretty exclusively listen to heavy stuff, but I've loved rhythm games live Amplitude, Frequency, Hatsune Miku, etc. If the gameplay is good, the beat can draw you in.
