Great movie. One of the best superhero movies . You should also see Darkman 1990. A original superhero movie with a young Liam Nisson , Sam Ramie made before he got the rights to do the Spiderman movies. Also Superman 1978 which is the first modern superhero movie.
I know how much struggle you have with editing to be able to upload on youtube, with copyright not just the movie, the music aswell. A big thank you for the effort.
My favourite part of this movie is the train fight scene, it was so welldone.
I personally like the Andrew Garfield movies, but they are not my favorite Spider-Man movies. They're not bad but they underperformed for many different reasons. One of those reasons is people were unreceptive to the idea of a reboot so shortly after Spider-Man 3. There were also rumblings of how Sam Rami and Tobey McGuire were forced out, Spider-Man 4 was basically in pre-production and Sony pulled the plug. Sony's reasoning was Spider-Man 3 was critically panned and they wanted a fresh new Spider-Man. The thing is though Spider-Man 3 was criticized mostly due to it being over packed with 3 villains all having a seperate story. The reason it was over packed was Sony's fault, Sam Rami did not want to include the 3rd villain in the movie but studio heads forced him to. It is a crazy story of how Studio interference can tank a successful franchise.
In my opinion, Spiderman 2 is the best Tobey Maguire Spiderman movie for sure…. it's just such a great movie.
Watching it again wiith you guys, I kinda realize how much heart this movie has and I feel like MCU movies have lost a lot of that heart. I know this movie was kinda extra in parts of it, but it definitely kept the heart…. hopefully MCU movies in future will come back to more heart.
For other movies you're gonna watch, you can watch the two Andrew Garfield movies in their normal order.
For X-Men, start with 2000's first X-Men movie, then X2 Xmen United, then Xmen 3 for first trilogy, then First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse and Dark Peoenix. For Wolverine, do X-Men Origins Wolverine, "The Wolverine" then Logan (Logan is absolutely the best one), then maybe do Deadpool (2 movies). With the Wolverine movies and Deadppol, there's no special order for them or anything. But if you watch them in that order I said, they make more sense and you understand some past references.
But yeh this Spiderman movie is one of the absolute greats in my opinion.
Also my opinion is the third one is too confusing and I also enjoyed the two Andrew Garfield movies even though they are considered bad by a few people. I still liked them.
Are you guys continuing on with the MCU journey too? Are you doing any Marvel TV shows like Wandavision and Loki? I hope so – there's some great shows (and bad ones) in Phase Four. Hope you keep going there.
Anyway, good fun. Still plenty more fun superhero content to come your way. π

1:05:28 Fun fact the man to the right of MJ who turns towards the camera for a brief moment is thestunt double of Thomas Jane who played Frank Castle, The Punisher in the 2004 film. For DVD of Spider-Man 2 confirms that this is Frank Castle but because of contract issues they couldn't get Thomas Jane for a cameo so they got his stunt double who is extremally close to Jane in appearance.
The Punisher himself first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (1974) as a character who was hunting Spider-Man, miss communication, Punisher thought Spider-Man became a crook. He later got his own comic run, Easy to forget that he first appeared in a Spider-Man comic.
She didn't really like the guy. She is trying to be an actress so she was attaching herself toward someone who has attention. That's also the reason she dated Harry. Harry's dad knew her real intention being that he has more life experience. That's why Harry's dad didn't like her during that dinner.
Peter's spidy-sense only warns him to danger. βοΈ
Well, you still have the 3rd one to go with Toby π Andy Garfield's Awesome Spider-Man movies were not that popular, maybe because it was a reboot, again with origin story and that. Although it has a twist about his parents and love interest. But, after a while they grew on me and i really like them. Definitely a good reaction material π And Emma Stone is great in it (as in everything) π
I still remember the day I went to see this movie in theaters in 04. I was with my Uncle and older brother and we were running late and we missed the first half of the film and it wasn't until I went to Mexico a year later where my cousin had a VHS copy of this movie and I finally got to watch it fully at his house.
Comic book movies in the late 90's and very early 2000's were still feeling their way around in what tone they wanted to represent. More than anything, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are products of the director, Sam Raimi. Raimi is known for his horror and horror-comedy films and in Spider-Man 2 the movie goes "full Raimi" with many quick close-ups, people screaming, and a horrific scene of the doctors and nurses getting mutilated by the mechanical arms.
That being said, this movie is incredibly goofy and fun which was a stark contrast to the only other big comic book movies at the time, which was the X-Men movies. Even though the X-Men films become progressively more and more campy, the very first scene of the X-Men movie franchise is a concentration camp.
"Train – Ordinary" was the music video I related to this movie but i might be mistaken
BONES!
Yay thanks for doing the next Toby McGuire Spider-Man! These came out when I was like 14 or something and I was all about it. I hope you react to the 3rd one. There was supposed to be a 4th as well but sadly never happened.
I just want to defend MJ in this because she gets some flack. She was from a rough upbringing and it is pretty in character for her to go from guy to guy, often choosing the wrong guys because she didnβt get a good example from home.
I also appreciate the wisdom and character growth, and life lessons in these older superhero movies.
Can I have whatever you two were smoking? π€£π€£π€£
This is still the best Spider-Man movie.
Spiderverse movies eventually. Whole different vibe, but amazing.
I've seen a lot of your videos and I've gotta say Mr's October is always so insightful. Keep up the great work, you two.

1:05:41 Spider-sense only detect malice type ambush towards him. With the acception of some space goo…
this version of peter was bitten by a genetically modified spider, which completely changed his DNA. his powers are affected by his stressed levels. it's like in real life, if a person is mentally or physically trained or stressed it can affect their body.
One of my favorite childhood Spiderman movies. Such a great sequel!! β€β€β€
out of the 3 Spider-Men we've seen in film I think Andrew Garfield is the strongest actor & played the role really well in my opinion, his movies were more held back by Sony trying to do too much I think.
Sam Raimi's frenetic, chaotic cinematography is perfect for this material.
Spidey's sense only alerts him of impending danger, so it doesn't do anything when MJ comes up behind him.
In the comics, Peter is afflicted with "the Parker Luck", where he never can catch a break despite his constant efforts. Often due to being Spider-Man, but sometimes just his own insecurity.
Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spiderman. Really hope you guys enjoy his movies!
Osborn actually didn't think he'd go crazy he said it was 1 failure but everything else was successful. The military made him take the serum. In my personal opinion complicated villains are better and these ones are just too "I'm good then science happened now I'm bad" for me but that's just my opinion. I do really like the movies and I'm glad you guys live them!
