Why the Reparations Movement Is Bad for America | Ep 291

CNN’s Don Lemon attempted to use a discussion about the British monarchy to call for reparations because of England’s colonial past. His guest, Hilary Fordwich, immediately flipped the age of slavery reparations’ narrative around and silenced Lemon. Jason says that even though Lemon went speechless on the matter, reparations is a conversation that America needs to have. “We need to discuss reparations in America. It’s a critical issue that impacts the mindset of many black Americans. Many black people believe America owes us for the oppression of our ancestors.” That reparations mindset that leads to an attitude of entitlement isn’t one that Jason subscribes to. “America does not owe me. I owe America. I owe my ancestors.” “Fearless” soldiers T.J. Moe and Shemeka Michelle explore the topic of reparations and its damaging effects on the advancement of black Americans. Plus, Steve Kim joins Jason and T.J. to hit the headlines from Monday Night Football as well as the second most talked about slap of 2022. Was Kyler Murray actually “slapped” by a fan? The Fearless Commission breaks down the film.

  1. Great show as always. Not a sports fan as such but I really appreciate the social commentary. I’m so impressed by Shemeka, now there is a woman who tells the truth and isn’t afraid of calling out this foolishness. I thank you Shemeka you give me hope out here.

  2. Do we have to watch the listen to Steve again? Yes, we do! Steve adds knowledge and humor to any episode he is on. Having TJ in the studio is always a blessing. Shemeka laid the smack down on Lemon. Watch Lemon's eyes as Hilary Fordwich is telling the truth that he and leftists don't want to hear. God bless Jason, TJ, Steve, and Shemeka.

  3. Only Kyler Murray could take one of the greatest comebacks in recent memory and turn it around to some type of pseudo racist encounter with a random high 5 that missed its mark.

Just like how he deleted his Twitter account of anything related to the Cards to pout over not getting a new contract, signs one of the largest deals months later and then the study clause leaks out to the media days later.

  5. We fought the most brutal war in our history to end slavery…that’s a bill paid in blood. To address the Jim Crow Era we instituted the Great Society programs that cost trillions of dollars and created affirmative action programs. That’s a lot of reparations. The great majority of blacks have been great patriots even when our nation didn’t fulfill our ideals. I thinks we should move forward together.

  6. All people that can make a claim for reparations should be paid at least one million dollars. Once that money is paid out there will be no more excuses. People will be expected to raise their children, work, pay taxes, obey the law etc. Print the money and pass it out. It's not like we don't do that for all kinds of other reasons anyway.

  8. I’m ALWAYS amazed how people COMPLETELY ignore and and or forget what JFK did for the
Civil Rights Movement, Blacks, Hispanics and this entire nation ! But….
Because he was killed, people really focus on and bring up him being assassinated.
Do ya research. That man did a lot and stood for The United States of America.
Technically, He and Dwight D. Eisenhower did a lot to advance all people.
And Dwight D. was black. Again….. Do ya research.
In the South, and a lot in the North, black families had a painting of these 3 men on their walls.
Jesus Christ. Martin Luther King Jr. and John Fitzgerald Kennedy !

  9. If your ancestors were wrongfully incarcerated by Southern States and municipalities to serve on prison gangs to rebuild the South after the Civil War, you should be able to file a lawsuit against those governments for wrongful imprisonment, recompense of their labor, and punitive damages, plus interest. This is not some intellectual abstraction about slavery, Reconstruction, and Jim Crow. The criminal, tax, and property records exist in stark black and white contrast for all to read.

  10. “What would be revealed if American corporations were examined through the same sharp lens of historical confrontation as the one then being trained on German corporations that relied on Jewish slave labor during World War II and the Swiss banks that robbed victims of the Holocaust of their fortunes?”

  11. Donna lemmon had no idea how to respond. Every white person needs to take a lesson from this woman….she doesn't give a rip about what another petson thonks when she speaks the truth. Start putting these childisg men and women calling you racist for speaking the truth. Just like dealing with children if you allow them to scream and cry like brats to get their way they will do that until daddy corrects their behavior. Any person, white black or anything else, that's crying racism and all the rest of the b.s. is a child…..be daddy and put them in their place unapologetically and without fear. Its the only way this garbage stops.

  12. Hilary Fordwich's argument that without the initial African slavers then Great Britain is not responsible for its own immoral participation in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and financing the institution of debt bondage slavery in the USA is absurdly juvenile. By her logic, a drug dealer in Chicago could never be prosecuted for selling cocaine produced by a coca farmer in Colombia, unless the Colombian farmer was also prosecuted.

  13. The retrogression of a people & the reprobate mind described in Romans 1 begins with the damning statement: “because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened”… the attitude of becoming unthankful is not only contagious, it is cancerous.

  14. Mr Whitlock, you can make your point about slavery without bashing Africa or Africans.
Perhaps , you should save some money and take a vacation to Africa, you could learn a lot.

Yes, Africa is poor, but you could learn a lot. Your statement is unbecoming of a Christian. Perhaps you need discipleship. Pastor Anthony probably should take you under his tutelage.

The kingdom of God is not about worldly success but about the state of our souls and how much we love God and our fellow man. In this regard, Africans are way ahead of you so called" civilized" western world.

You owe your fellow African Christians an apology !

  15. We as black people don't realize how good we have it in the United States. When you talk about reparations, like I said before in my opinion the only people who deserve reparations are the American Indian. If anyone got screwed it was the American Indian because they were here 1st everyone else can or migrated from somewhere else. You don't here them complaining about reparations. Those that wasn't killed out or driven out were put on reservations. Instead of complaining they turn a negative to a positive because now a lot of the reservations have casinos and now they are taking everybody's money from every race of people.

  16. Jason Whitlock preaches during the week, gambles and screws around during the weekend. Seems like every preacher ever made. I guess in order to be on Glenn Beck's dime you best at least pretend to be Christian. Can't wait until he knocks some girl up and turns into Portnoy.
