Tesla and SpaceX founder, Elon Musk, seems to think he has all the answers for the future survival of humanity, and his bright idea involves nuking Mars. Check out today’s insane new video to learn why this isn’t such a smart plan after all.

Really what it comes down to is whether propulsion tech advances fast enough to get us to another solar system that has a good chance of having a habitable planet already. If this is the case we may well have an easier time setting up shop in another solar system rather than terraforming Mars.
There is this approx 4.5 billion years old planet next to Mars why is it a bad idea…
A-hem.. Y'all know there's an abundant supply of ready-to-use greenhouse gas on the second rock from the sun, right? Come on, guys, Spaceball One figured this out decades ago.
I tend to cringe when I hear or see the term "terraforming", especially in reference to Mars.
As if the myriad of situations, which took BILLIONS of years to accomplish NATURALLY on Earth, can simply be done elsewhere–by HUMANS!
Ironically, the very same planning, resource gathering, patience and willingness to terraform ANY body outside of Earth is exactly what is needed to fix the planet that we are currently on.
I think if there is a co2 and other greenhouse gases bomb created and
if its blowed into the atmosphere there would be a chance to warm it up but because Mars atmospheric field is pretty bad and it the sun make eclipse then there would be problems by radiation of uv so it's unsafe for humans and plants to live without a strong atmospheric field.
How come there wasn't any mention about using HAARP or cloud creation on the red planet which might be good aspects to look at.
In retrospect, until humanity can start creating it's own starships in orbital factories around earth, we shouldn't be looking at colonization on other planets. At that futuristic point our technological advancement would be at the perfect place for exploration, colonization and even defense.
He’s just trying to get us to help him exact his revenge on mars for exiling him.
what about the radiation?
It would repeat itself even if we managed to colonize Mars and even if the planet we live on now is destroyed somewhere form it would cost trillions more than trillions of dollars for a project like that the entire world had to come together to make that and in the political point of view neither side would want to work together for that purpose maybe only in it for themselves then the question would arise who would control it there have to be a government body that controls Mars but under who there's multiple governments so the only options would be if the entire planet United under one government or with the planet is divided with borders drawn on the new planet but even if all that goes in the play it won't be forever mankind will go back to his old ways and eventually global warming will affect that planet and soon that planet well suffer the same fate so no matter how you put it if you really want to save us we need to save the plan we already live on that's the goal of humanity should be we should try to save the planet we already have
The planet is dead, stop complaining about terraforming a world that has no life.
They said he can’t make a recyclable spaceship. They said it was impossible especially the so called expert like Neil Armstrong. He did it and look it’s working. Being an expert doesn’t mean you know everything.
Elon would do everything but not save Earth
Just say there's oil on Mars and soon enough we'll hear that Mars need some…'liberation'
I would rather put those resources to save our own planet than terraforming others
I don’t know why but I sense this won’t age well and that Elon will end up being proven right in time.
Nice video
some! scientists ppl act like the word scientist means some omipotent collective lol
“The average temperature of Mars is -81F”
That’s about the temperature of a Summer in Maine.
Just find a astroid 2-3x bigger then the one that wiped out the dinos with like 20 rocket’s
Crazy rich , crazy dream, crqzy idea, more…..?
You have to be some desperate species trying to move to a dead planet blind folded not knowing what really up there other than some scientists bullcrap assumptions! A Martian can't live on EARTH just like earthing can't live on MARS! YOU have to be BORN on those PLANETS to survive. If the creator wanted you on those PLANETS, you be already there. Some things is not meant to be! That's why the creator wrapped all kind radiated force fields and van Allen beats around earth just to keep you from escaping.
my mother
"When in doubt, drop a bomb."
Let’s be honest. This has been an idea for 20-30 years. Mars is a dead planet unless we heat it up and give it a thousand more times it’s atmospheric pressure. Not to mention it’s soil is poison unless we also fix that.
Don’t blame Elon for the fact a dead planet is dead and has been attracting crazy ideas for more than a generation. It’s not lie you’re doing more.
Just why tho?
Bro "Climate Change" as its sold to us is such an obvious scam and you all should know better.
Literally every single large temperature spike in the 20th century (you know, the things that started this all) correlate perfectly with the largest bans on anti-greenhouse particulate emissions.
….but do you know what they don't correlate with? Changes in CO2 concentration or emissions.
… this implies that the people who push this alarmism may be the very people who caused it.
Something else that occurred to me is that angiosperms grow most efficiently by most measures at 700ppm CO2…which happens to be what they evolved in on average…they can even make use of up to 1200ppm.
Another big red flag to the whole narrative is how Antarctica spent half of its history in that location as warm green grasslands and dense forests….
This means, obviously the runaway greenhouse effect that everyone panics over can not happen until at least both of the above conditions are true again, and then some. So we are very obviously not even close.
what about crowd sourcing like saving and donate our farts to NASA
Thing of space travel as a backup, you know, considering there are over 30,000 nuclear weapons on Earth!
Technology developed to survive in space can help us here as well!
Surprised fallout wasnt addressed in the nuke idea
It would be hilarious if we actually blew ourselves up and all the chunks of left-over Earth slammed into Mars terraforming it fully. Kinda the ultimate and final form of Irony if you think about it.
I like the asteroid idea
