Hey @paul … you know… gonna suggest some public speaking classes. the basics of "Pitch/Pace/Power/etc" thing. You really babble on with a stream of sound that is quite easy to tune out and ignore/click and move on. NOTHING engaging, pauses, inflection of import, etc that grabs attention. Really just very, unskilled presentation.
Hehe Paul did an ultra mini Linus at the end. Nice.
Another crap video from paul and something he wont be able to fix….
DLSS usually comes to the games that it matters in, no one actually talks about that, they just say "its not in all game". You dont need DLSS for an indie game, DLSS is great for cinematic action games and its in most if not all of those that arent paid off by AMD.
Hey Paul! Question for the next probing!
a little context: I built my last computer following your September 2019 2080ti build (I did pick another case (mb 5 pro) and video card (2070 super)). I remember when changing the case to stick to your case specs as it related to GPU and max length of 410mm. I Have upgraded that build many times with such ease, including today (ASUS tuf RTX4090) and to my amazement it fit in the case. Got me thinking, how much future planning do you do on your builds? any quick tips on what you are usually looking out for? thanks!
"I was a little bit sore afterwards" 😂
Solid point about choosing a better GPU vs paying extra for certain AIB model.
I was looking at a 7900xt which was $850 from AsRock, $50 above the cheapest 7900xt model, BUT I was patient & with a $50 discount & promo code ($95 off) plus RE4 for free, I could get a 7900 xtx for $850
When I factor in the RE4 game code which is a game I was already looking at buying. I basically paid $790 for the 7900 XTX reference model.
Hey Paul, I was looking to upgrade some parts on my PC and dont really have a decent frame of reference. I currently have a ryzen 9 3900x with 32GBof RAM and an RTX 3070. my old video card which was a 1070 had died on me and i hastily bought the 3070 from microcenter during the shortage. now that the shortage is done is there something in the running that would be considered an upgrade from my current video card from either team red or green for 4k120? Should i skip the video card and upgrade the CPU first with a 5800X3D or keep the 3900X?
One other reason not too look at DLSS3 etc is the fact it is NOT part of the card, it is software. The physical card is what is bein reiewed, not the software only.
I made a mistake by buying a 3440×1440 144z 34 inch ultrawide and running it on a evga rtx 3050😂. The monitor was 50% off so i just bought it without thinking about it. I was using a 32 inch 165hz 1080p monitor so the rtx 3050 was good to run that monitor but im killing it trying to push 144hz at 3440×1440
Your missing another key value for some of the more expensive cards. For example the Asus TUF/ROG generally use higher quality components, which can take more abuse and will last longer
got to think and study what your buying before you pay up. there isd SALES TAX and SHIPPING to pay for. that can easy go up to $100.00 you do know the hihger the price tag is the higher the sales tax it. lets say looking for a RTX 4070 (NONE TI) and looking at a 3rd party brand name, that can easy jeack up a EXTRA $100.00 to $200.00 depending on the 3rd PARTY CUSTOM FEATHERS., so the next think you know it the price sky rotet to $800.00 to $1000.00 so better off buying a RTX 4080 an buy the cheapest one or do not bother. buying one.. there is no shame to walk away from a deal
These days, I just buy the cheapest model, assuming it’s not some gimped card like the 2080 Ti Black with a severely limited max wattage. Most cards, especially the cheap ones, you can usually flash a higher power target bios and upgrade your card for free. To be fair I always liquid cool my cards so the cooler is irrelevant to me.
Sometimes it does make sense to buy the top end card, but not anymore with prices out of control. For example, I bought a GTX 980 Classified, but the price wasn’t $500 more than the reference model, and it was capable of safely handling 450 watts on water, which I intended to do. I don’t risk my hardware for 2% performance improvement anymore, it’s not worth it when the card costs $1500.
RT and upscaling is irrelevant till ALL games have it included till then you focus on what actually matters for ALL games. The only tech to me that actually matters over the past few years is RSR as that can be applied to 99% of the games.
It’s male time, and Paul is ready to be probed 😮

👍👍
You know you have an RGB habit when your artwork has to have RGB.
Love the recycling of old components!
Rasterization should always be the focus of GPU testing and reviews.
DLSS, FSR, etc are bonus features which have to specifically be supported by software, similar to SLI in the past.
The difference is literally worth only few dollars more from china. A better cooler costs almost nothing to manufacture.
My nvidia gpus have never limited oc because of temp. They always lose stability WAY before that happens. Also have had top level numbers for the particular card. Maybe sound could be a fair issue if you couldnt just buy the cheaper card and throw a decent watercooler on. Although now fams arent too far off that anyway
my gtx titan maxwell starting to show her age, when the gpu price right now,idk what 700 usd could buy me now?
I wanted to go Team Red, but now waiting for the delivery of my 3060 12gb . It was down to 320€, what was the original MSRP back in 2021.
