I have a high elf burglar now I enjoy it a lot more now
I tried, I really did. But the lag was so bad I couldn't lose myself in the game. If they ever fix the lag I'll be back in a heartbeat.
I started playing in February with this being my first ever mmo. I love this game so much that i have over a month clocked in on my second character. I was never really into mmoās but i had a friend who played warcraft religiously and has always tried to get me to play it. So when he found this game on steam he new i would like it because im a big tolkien fan. And i havenāt looked back since. Iāve tried other mmoās but could never get in them like i did in lotro, this game is truly a hidden gem.
Totally agree that mindset you suggest, nerd it. š
I would come back, but they really need to update their engine to UR5 they are still using 20 yr old graphics engine
Coupon Code:
FREEQUESTS2022
Available through 31 October 2022, this coupon code will grant your account all existing non-expansion quest packs except The Further Adventures of Elladan and Elrohir. Even if you used the 2020 or 2021 free quest pack codes, use FREEQUESTS2022 to get the quest packs released after the codes from previous years. Even if you are currently a VIP subscriber and therefore are "renting" all non-expansion quest packs already, use FREEQUESTS2022 to get all existing non-expansion quests packs (except The Further Adventures of Elladan and Elrohir) added to your account so that you "own" them and will maintain access to them even if you later allow your account to drop down to Premium status.
Also, the Mordor, Minas Morgul, and War of Three Peaks expansion quest packs are available for only 99 LOTRO Points each in the in-game store through 31 October 2022.
Really really tried to play it and immerse myself especially since the new rings of power series is out. As an eu player it really sucks not having a data center in europe, the Lag and rubber banding is too much
I don't have much time to play video games, only being able to play once a week/2 weeks, during the weekends and I really am in love with this game. Whenever I launch the game I know for sure I'll have a really chill experience. The story and quests are well written and enjoyable, the world feels huge and alive. I started playing this year and atm I'm lvl 71 on my red line Burglar, this is honestly my number one favourite MMORPG atm, wish I started playing it earlier actually. I tried lots of MMO's and I've been a fan of the genre for years now and this game scratches the itch in any way possible for me, oldschool style MMO, huge open world, huge lore and a community with a big golden heart.
You forgot to mention getting DC'd about once every two hours…
I tried, made it 10 min in but the graphics and janky jumping etc just cringes me out. Woulda loved it back in the days but now.. ive gotten spoiled on the smoothness and graphic parts of mmorpgs. I would jizz all over a new lotr mmorpg tho!
I want to play but afraid to invest time in a new mmo. I've been playing wow forever and now enjoying casual Turtle Wow. I love Middle Earth and Tolkien more than anything. I probably just need to take the plunge.
I just started the game and I think I should of waited! The new mini expansion giving a new player experience sounds great
Can I reset my toons to level 1?
And, as you complete content, you earn LOTRO points which you can spend for many quality of life options. Or you can pay $99.99 annually for VIP. Best on a budget is pay one month and go Premium account.
I like the game because it is immersive, but not all consuming. You can explore all the nucks and crannies of a region, or just do the quests and move on, or skip a region in its entirety. And really enjoy the PvE nature of the game. And interaction with others is primarily collaborative. I mean, isn't there enough conflict in RL?
Come join us on Arkenstone everyone, we have 2nd Breakfast & Elevensies!
My friend and I started on Arkenstone partly because I enjoy watching your videos. Unfortunately the community there was not very welcoming it felt like World of Warcraft chat it was very toxic everyone hated everything and it really soured our experience. We jumped over to Crickhollow that have been very very happy over there. Nothing against how much you enjoy that server, it just was not for us
I played lotro online at the release in 2007, and my problem is that it looks the same with graphics and fight mechanics. Kinda sad they did not upgrade it more. Would be cool to try it though if it was more upgraded.
This game benefits greatly from the depth of the Tolkien world and the adequate literacy/mannerism of its fanbase.
I dragged my wife to the game I left 10 years ago & we had a blast just delivering packages in the Shire.š
You can simply strike up friendly conversations with people in world chat and experience the sincerity & friendliness that has long since disappeared from other online platforms.
Jumping back in for the frost time in 11 years with toons who are complete strangers to me. Good times! LFG!!!
I want to return to LOTRO, it's still a great game, but I'm going to wait until the devs change the UI. I just can't stand the old UI anymore… (._.)
great vid but your comment about justifying Hobbit Loremaster as a Bilbo type character is plain wrong imo – Bilbo was a Burglar (Hobbit book)
I lost my lifetime account MANY years ago- Its hard me to get back to such a game. I'd like to leave my good memories in the past. But good on people to return after all these years.
Even better news, there's a new free quests code for anyone that wants to unlock more of the game. Use code FREEQUESTS2022 in the LOTRO store to unlock a lot of content, including Rangers & Ruins, Yondershire, and more. Code expires Oct 31st 2022, so need to use it fast!
Edit – I'd recommend even VIP use the code, that way if you ever decide to cancel VIP you'll have everything unlocked still.
I came back with some buddies and we made fresh new characters last weekend. I made a stout axe captain, he's so much fun. We essentially do a group ironman mode and don't use the auction house. Any gear we have is from quests, drops, or made by someone else in the group. Very fun.
the community is nice indeed, however…after 12 years playing with 6 cap level classes, i quit now. The game goes into a wierd direction, the Minstrel is destoyed and the lag is insane. Wave and happy hunting everyone, not returning ever again.
love your positiveness, stay awesome
As a old veteran I return to Lotro. Started with two friends one week ago on the legendary server Treebeard and we having a great time. Breeland still feels like 15 years ago! Love it!
Really thinking about transferring to arkeatone to be in your guild! Iām in crickhollow and I love it and all but as a new player it feels kinda empty š
I just started a few days ago. Lvl 11 so far š
But why join now when LOTRO classic is coming?
Nice!
