Why Nasa Is CONCERNED About Starship New Launch Tower?
To address NASA’s concerns, SpaceX has proposed a plan to launch U.S. astronauts from a different launchpad in Florida, but getting agency approval could take months.
Meanwhile, SpaceX has accelerated construction of an orbital Starship launchpad at its facilities in Cape Canaveral, Florida, as an alternative to the rocket’s primary test launch, and development site in Boca Chica, Texas.
However, Launch Complex 39A, at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center is the only pad approved to launch the company’s Crew Dragon capsule, which NASA depends on to ferry its astronauts to the International Space Station.
NASA officials have warned SpaceX, that a Starship explosion at Launch Complex 39A, could effectively cut off the space agency’s sole means of launching U S astronauts to the International Space Station.
“We all recognize that if you had an early failure like we did on one of the early SpaceX flights, it would be pretty devastating to 39A,” Kathy Lueders, the former head of NASA’s space operations, expressed.
So, while Musk is eager to make history with Starship, he’ll need to work closely with NASA to ensure that the launch goes off without a hitch.
SpaceX, the innovative space exploration company, has been making some big moves lately.
They’ve invested heavily in building a Starship pad just a few hundred feet from pad 39A’s launch tower.
And now, they’re pitching NASA on a plan to outfit their other Florida pad, Launch Complex 40, with the means to launch U.S. astronauts. But that’s not all.
SpaceX is also studying ways to “harden” 39A, making the launchpad more resilient to both an explosive Starship accident, and the immense forces emitted from a successful Starship liftoff.
Of course, all of this requires agency approval, but SpaceX is working closely with NASA to make it happen.

SpaceX will only launch a rocket after receiving FAA approval. It is unlikely they would apply for such a license in Florida unless and until they and the FAA have experienced MANY successful StarShip missionsfrom Boca Chica.
Says the stupid AI.
why not use a human voice ?????
SLC40 is laso crew rated now right ?
Without Elon Musk, we would not have a commercial space program and if he leaves too soon, it may dissolve back to governments only.
Your content is a bit old!
NASA has a lot of nerve, they have blown up everything but the kitchen sink and have had countless deaths. All the while SpaceX is who they run to whenever they need something. He's got to be working an angle 🤔
If he were to move his entire operation offshore into international waters (remember the two oil rigs he bought) the FAA would no longer even be involved and he could stop working with them all together!
NASA relies on SpaceX, SpaceX has options!
Audio please ! ! ! tjl
It appears NASA is looking for excuses to hamstring Spacex !!!
This isnt even new news and the 2nd Falcon9 launch tower has already been approved for crewed missions. There is no upcoming Starship launch from Florida. There is so much misinformation in this video. Take science out of the name of your channel and replace it with Chatgpt
LC 39-A is not needed during 2024, maybe not even 2025. The whole premise of this video is wrong.
Bone head, the segments of the launch tower have already been transported to Boca Chica Space X for assembly there.
The whole problem is Starship making SLS look like a useless rocket
