I think we should stop lionizing the quick recovery from the Rapid Unscheduled Excavation. Everyone expert and amateur said that the launch mount needed a flame diverter. Elon decided to launch without one. It was purely stupid and unnecessary, and therefore the quick recover from it shouldn't have ever needed to happen.

I'm very interested in the abort procedure. Rockets with a capsule use a tower jet or built in jets on the capsule. Clearly starship (at least on the pad or early accent) isn't going to suddenly pull away from the main rocket in the event of an emergency.
From the first of sept, it could be 135 days for fish and game to approve the launch. The faa has approved the launch.
