“The FTC is suing Microsoft to block its Activision Blizzard purchase. The FTC has filed a legal challenge to try and block Microsoft’s plan to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, according to a press release from the regulator. The lawsuit was filed today after weeks of back and forth between Microsoft, Sony, and regulators over competition concerns and the future of Call of Duty. The FTC argues that the acquisition would “enable Microsoft to suppress competitors to its Xbox gaming consoles and its rapidly growing subscription content and cloud-gaming business.”

“Sony Says It’s Resolved Long-Term PS5 Stock Shortages. Sony bigwig Jim Ryan told an audience at the PlayStation Partner Awards a few days ago that Sony has resolved PS5’s stock shortages. His message, targeted at publishing partners, added that it will be able to deliver the new-gen console to “many customers in Japan and Asia” starting “this year-end shopping season and into 2023”. Supply has been more readily available worldwide of late, although we’re not sure we’d describe the situation as resolved – anecdotally, we’re still yet to actually see a system in a shop.”

From Video Games Chronicle

“Sony has announced a free PlayStation Plus online multiplayer weekend. Online multiplayer modes for PS4 and PS5 games will be accessible without a PlayStation Plus subscription from December 10-11, the company said.”

From Push Square

“The Last of Us: Part I on PC Costs Less Than PS5 Version. The Last of Us: Part I is by and large a very successful remake of one of Sony’s best games. However, upon launch, one thing left a bad taste in the mouths of its fans: the asking price. The PS5 remake costs $69.99/£69.99, which is quickly becoming an industry standard. It’s pretty darn steep, and left a sour aftertaste on what should’ve been a straightforward release. Things have complicated a little more now that the PC version has been dated. It’s coming on 3rd March 2023, and you can pre-order it right now on Steam and Epic Games Store. Fans quickly realised something, though — the game is priced $59.99/£49.99, a whole 10 dollars (or 20 pounds) less than the PS5 version.”

From Push Square

“Horizon Forbidden West DLC Takes Aloy to the Burning Shores Only on PS5. Interestingly, Burning Shores is coming exclusively to PS5. Horizon Forbidden West released on both PS5 and PS4, but it seems the DLC will skip Sony’s last-gen console. Writing on the PS Blog, Guerrilla Games calls it an “ambitious expansion”, and in order to “achieve this grand vision technically and creatively, we’ve made the difficult decision to focus all our efforts on making an incredible experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console”.

  2. Well for me the way the new systems are made it is good a reason to go PC from now on. Get a tower that you can upgrade yourself.
I always purchased a console so I would not be reliant on internet service.
If I was bad off financially
I could let go of my internet service as bad as it would be and still be able to play games.
As much as I enjoy the internet you cannot eat it, I do not require it for work
it would have to be the thing to go.

Once internet downloads became an option it gave content creators the excuse to release unfinished buggy games
they could always use the excuse we can patch it later.
Even many single player games now require an internet connection.

You are on the risk of a downloaded game having the right license run out in which case that game on your system is no longer playable. I have had a few things go missing form mine. Or the network will decide to pull it for one reason or another.

Now that internet connection is required for most consoles have lost in one major incentive to purchase
PC is definitely the way to go
you can upgrade the systems yourself ,you have the option of mods for a whole new gaming experience, graphics are better on PC usually several steps ahead of consoles

  5. Actually the Call of Duty on Nintendo is really really good and then die out that fast it would have kept on going because it was the only Call of Duty. Now that Call of Duty is also coming to to Nintendo I'm pretty sure that now Sony's really scared because now it's going to be on our platform meaning that people are going to be able to choose more. I would love to see a native version for my steam deck instead I have to doing that dual booting I'm probably going to take my steam back to my friend's house to get it with the dual booting. But I'm really happy that Microsoft is actually taking over Activision hopefully we'll see less cheating and I hope they put that panda bear back on for the cheating problem on the Call of Duty

  6. If you want to know what's going to be like in 10 years I already know. I was going to be working for EA sport back in the day as a game director. I was the first person in the United States to have a Playstation One 6 months prior even came out in Japan. I meant this gentleman by the name of Philip which is French and billionaire comes from my famous famous family in in Europe and they make pieces for consoles and Etc. When I was there I got in touch with Sony I saw the PlayStation before everybody saw it I had it everything and I also got a ball with them so they send me their patents from time to time. One of those pattern was a material it could be flexed like a clock like material which are going to be making the PlayStation out of it in the future which it's going to be Samsung remember most of all their Engineers of Sony went to Samsung so Samsung's going to end up buying out Sony and we're going to see Samsung PlayStation Samsung Vita etc etc

  7. I understand its in the nature of man to always show who has the bigger Dick! But if gaming companies pulled together to make everything better its not like people won't pay for it anyway. Watch and see there's going to be a gaming system come out that will put all others to complete shame and take all the business
