Why India should NEVER Host Olympics? | Open Letter

India should be cautious about hosting the Olympics due to several reasons. The massive financial burden of organizing such an event can strain the economy, diverting resources from essential areas like infrastructure, healthcare, and education. India’s existing sports infrastructure is underdeveloped, and the construction of new facilities could lead to wastage if not maintained post-Olympics. Additionally, logistical challenges, including traffic, pollution, and security concerns, could hinder the event’s success. Instead, India might benefit more by focusing on grassroots sports development and improving existing infrastructure.

  1. Ambanis should foot the bill, Mukesh Ambani has loads of money, if he can spend Rs. 5000 Cr for his son's wedding he sure can host Olympics on India's behalf. Taxpayers money should not be used in this, this looks like a good chance for politicians, builders and contractors to loot public money in the name of hosting Olympics.

  2. किसी खेल को होस्ट करने के लिए उस खेल मे आगे होना जरूरी है। इंडिया को इसे छोड़कर अपने खेल के डेवलपमेंट पर ध्यान देना चाहिए।

  3. we have lot of kids on roads selling pens and other things due to poverty , should we really invest so much ? , Brazil even after hosting brazil did not become super power , It's our duty to stop olympics , we hardly even win only 4 to 5 medals , If Nita ambani wants to host let her host from her money for everything , her son's wedding is her choice that no one has even right to ask about that , but olympics india should not host

  5. Can't even crack the top 10 medals tally and India wants to host the Olympics? And that too, NOT in our nation's capital… but in Gujarat? The state whose athletes couldn't even win a single medal in the last Asian Games, where India won over 110 medals?! The same state that unfairly got the highest amount from Centre's Khelo India scheme?

As usual, it's not India that wants to host the Olympics. It's Modi and his Gujju frauds who want to host the Olympics. MODI wants the Olympics to be hosted in the NARENDRA MODI STADIUM so that HIS NAME is repeated in Olympics broadcasts. It's to prop up MODI's name — not India's name. And Modi will loot funds from all the other states, funnel it to Gujarat, and per usual award all the contracts to his Gujarati cronies!

As for that PR-obsessed Nita Ambani, who after spending Rs. 5000 crores on a wedding still couldn't change India's global image, now she wants to spend more crores supporting an Olympics bid? This dumbass family couldn't even think about supporting athletes and giving them all that they need in order to win medals? But they will spend crores on self-PR to somehow link themselves to the Olympics — or are they just going to bribe IOC officials?

  6. Despite having population of 1.4 billion, we do not win as much medals as we should. I think the main reasons are not having facilities, not being paid as much as what players get paid in other countries, not getting as much lime light as the players of the popular sports get in India—the part of the reason is people are simply not interested in other sports than cricket—however, I do think had they played such sports, they would probably be interested, and portraying sports as a bad career choice by the society. Just organizing Olypmics would not help in winning more medals.

  7. The Olympics are nothing but a gateway for a massive corruption. That's why Ambani's are so excited to get involved in it. Every piece of equipment and accessories would come from the Jio and taxpayers money will pay them at an inflated rate.

  8. If India hosts the Olympics , it will eventually develop the sports infrastructure , facilities and sporting opportunities in India. Then what is the problem in hosting a budget friendly Olympics ?

  9. The Olympics should become more collaborative. For example, all participant countries should contribute some money to the host country. This way the financial burden won't fall on a single host country. Another option is to allow the host country to host 3-4 consecutive Olympics so that it gets enough opportunity to recover the amount it invested and also develop the sport in its country.

  10. Olympics is just about more government spending of the taxpayers money so that politicians and rich get richer.
They will say poor will get “jobs”.
There is no denying that it will generate short term employment for a handful of people but rich make most of money in all this.
Combined with rampant corruption it is a win win for some but huge loss of taxpayers money.

  11. If at all India is hosting Olympics, the games should be spread on multiple cities / states that already have some existing infrastructure.
    For example
    Wrestling in Haryana /Punjab
    Boxing in Manipur
Swimming / Atheletics or canoeing in Kerala or Karnataka
    Shooting in Delhi 😅
    Hockey in Orrisa
    Badminton in Hyderabad
