Why I LOVE Cedar Point

I go to Cedar Point as often as I possibly can (as a matter of fact, I’m going next weekend), so I clearly enjoy the experience of the park. From the atmosphere to the rides to the beach to the resorts and more, there is SO MUCH that I absolutely love at Cedar Point.

So come along with me. Let’s talk and reminisce about Cedar Point last year while we prepare for Cedar Point in the 2023 season!

I HOPE YOU’RE READY!

LET’S GO!

  1. And before the car really took off, the park was literally only accessible by ferry (I think Cedar Fair actually operated the ferry themselves and then gave it up to Jet Express). Also the Causeway was initially tolled or the parking tolls were initially on the mainland

  2. You have museums downtown that are good for families, Cedar Point Shores and the indoor water Parks at Castaway Bay/Great Bear/Kalahari. I feel Downtown is a little underrated. Some shops are blank and it doesn't seem the theater does much to drag attention to maybe attract tourists on an evening instead of something like Summer Nights or spending a night on Put-in-Bay (Kelleys looks more family friendly). You can also technically go to Canada, but its roughly 3hrs by bus from the mainland to a "major" city (Windsor, which is just outside of Detroit)-there is a winery on Peele, but is mostly preserved as nature

  3. My favorite thing is how much it's like a super affordable Disney trip. The atmosphere is really the ultimate vacation, especially staying at Breakers. Food is great, rides are incredible, shows are super rewatchable.

There's good reason we're spending two weeks there this year.

  4. Seems like the overall park experience gets better every year. I am so grateful they added the farmhouse eatery with decent food and live music. Hoping for similar quality at the boardwalk. This was the first year I took in a show (lusty Lil) based on your enthusiasm for it, and I loved that!

  5. One of my favorite things about coming to cedar point every year is riding a different coaster everytime. I wasn't much of a coaster enthusiast until I got with my fiancée she loves them all and has came for many years and now brought me to this great amusement park. So every year I always ride something new and this year I have quite a list I'm gonna ride number 1 bring gatekeeper. Thanks for these videos.

  6. I’m curious how long have been visiting CP?

You’re not running out of material! It’s a million times easier for me to comment at length on your topics than it is to edit together a video. It’s not to show people what I know. It’s to elaborate on your topics. So I must I must…

It looks like in your description you were lucky enough to win the lottery of Winter Chill Out Tickets. I never go to WCO. I watch videos and photos. They normally don’t allow video behind the scenes however I’ve seen girls vlog do it anyway. which is nice.

Separated from Reality: I’ve never been to a theme park on an island but I’ve been to an amusement park a peninsula lol. It does make it feel unique and of all places in Sandusky, OH which I like. not going there in the offseason is fine maybe because it’s such a well-documented park online. I’ve been to WDW twice. it has some good rides. I’d rather go to CP. Snoopy’s cool too. CP Sports Force park is a big addition. They’re adding e-Sports in the big basketball/volleyball building (yeah video games are a sport. so is poker on espn). The Chausee is a thin piece of land that barely connects CP to make it a peninsula. with a road the people who live there really don’t like CP visitor’s using so I only use it once a season just to see the houses that connects it from being an island. The man made causeway is going to upgrade it soon. Not sure how. They’re going to add a roundabout by the Rt 6 turn. that’s a literal accident waiting to happen.

The Beach & Breakers: After the CEO Dick Kinzel retired (they’ve lived in one of the houses next to the main parking lot for a long time. my friend’s been over there.) Matt Quimet from Disney Cruise and Resorts took over. He said you have a mile long beach and you're not using it. that’s why there’s so many activities for the better. Breakers got a complete makeover including the new wing and pool.

The Shows: Good to hear you teach music no pun intended. There’s a former performer (I’m a poet and I don’t even know it) who has a studio she teaches singing, piano and some dance in NC. she’s the only one I know of to do that, she still does local shows. A cruise is in your future. A lot of CP performers use CP as a springboard to end up seeing the world. as well as off broadway, dinner theatres, resorts, casinos, las vegas etc I’ve taped backstage during a Red Garter show. I had that on another youtube channel. The performers in the shows always have been diverse but yes more so this season because of the casting director. it’s good thing they’re talented to be in the shows not just for the sake of being a certain body type for example. I’d disagree with you on the show quality of the past seasons vs today. the one you pointed out in prior to 2021’s in the Aldrich wasn’t the best but prior to that they were solid. I’ve seen so many of shows I never counted. My friends have seen a lot more than that. I haven’t uploaded everything I’ve recorded. this season I did because I nothing else I wanted to upload lol

The Night Show: It was called 150 in 2021 (150th anniversary was pushed back one season due tot he 2020 pandemic) and Night Time Spectacular in 2022. Search my channel for ‘Luminosity’ especially 2017. The 2021-22 night shows are based on that huge Vegas style spectacle which is why they built the stage. (That's one reason I ask how long you've been going to CP) All Wheels Sports Vertical Impact were on that stage that was specially modified for a couple of seasons by California Ramp Works in 2019-20 which was good to see since I was a fan from the first show but they had to tear down the old stadium where Wild Mouse will be. (the transformed the International Showplace stage at Kings Ialand for that and Haunt's Nytewalkers) CP did a nice job handling the pandemic. Iy brought the snoopy show to the main stage out of the Aldrich which was good thing. The HalloWeekends parades 2007-2019 were the basis of the 150 parade. not sure if they’ll have the summer parade again. they were talking 2-3 seasons. skeleton crew was on the main stage fora number of halloweekends.

The Islands: I’ve never been to them. I'm not a party animal. My Aunt & cousins go to Put-in-Bay every summer. based on photos and stories it is an adult playground lol My cousin has a pass to CP. I’ve been on a boat around CP and met the people who’s boat caught on fire in the marina a number of years ago. He put 300 gal of gasoline in it and asked for it back. The fire dept said it’s tainted. guess who’s filling up their lawnmowers with tainted gasoline (I might told that story. It was an electrical fire in the wall. sunk the smaller boat next to it)

World Renowed: Especially in Europe who like amusement parks and roller coaster clubs. I’ve ridden with some of them. I’m not in a coaster club. I feel like it’s an unofficial one since I know a lot of people who are. sometimes I think to myself there’s people who would kill to be on these coasters. We’re lucky we’re so close. Magnum is the one that started the coaster wars reaching over 200 ft. It takes about as long to get up the chain lift as it does to ride MF lol MF uses the unique cable pulley system to get the train at a 45 deg angle to fit. etc etc. My maintenance supervisor freind has inspected the cable in 45-50 mph winds. They have to climb over the hill in the man trap and press a button. my freind has ridden it talking about it for the history channel etc etc. It’ scool the people you get to meet but we alwas keep most of the topics to CP. MF also has a couple spaces for trim brake brackets but luckily it doesn’t need them like most coasters do to slow down the train so it doesn’t crack the track. Magnum’s has when they’re off. There’s been lots of celebrities and athletes who have been to CP especially if they have a game, race or concert in Cleve or Detroit. They’ve filmed the Bachelore/Bachelorette segments and a B-movie there. etc

Great Bartenders: You never met a drink you didn’t like! You need an adult beverage sponsor. But it’s a family amusement park so maybe not lol I don’t drink. So I can only comment I like Coke Freestyle free high quality H20.

Hotel Breakers: I never actually stayed there. I often hang out in the rotunda after the park closes to wind down. The whole area is a nice upgrade from what it used to be.

Employees: The ride ops have a tough job to do and they do it very well. I’ve never met an employee I had a problem with.

Subs: You’re only vlog I sub to. I know so much about the park more than the vloggers I don’t need to watch them. There’s a couple others during the season I’ll watch a specific CP vlog topic and they do a good job. and I don’t need to watch channels dedicated to roller coaster theories (they get all the views though). Your presentations are the best and you’re dedicated.

that's my book of info for this video.
