So… are you gonna play New World? That said, I 100% agree – I've been in the alpha and beta, and NW is good, not great. Right now ESO is the best western MMO out there – it does everything NW does and way more.
Or Amazon has enough of your money….leave developing videogames to a company that actually cares about humans and doesn't force their employees to piss in plastic bottles. You people think Blizzard doesnt care?? Wait until you see what this company is capable of.
no sub fee, it'll get better, whereas wow… sub fee, game fee, expac fee. shops…. and its a burning dumpster fire right now, ff14 is fine it has all of the above from wow excluding the dumpster right now, its not that great. for now no sub fee, having fun for now. i can quit and i wont have invested as much as i did in wow.
im going to give new world a try eventually, but i dont have any fomo when it comes to jumping straight in on release date. i thought the beta was ok, but didn't blow my mind so ima bide my time before giving it a go, but i get the feeling its not going to be as good as i hoped it would be but time will tell

New world will be ok in 5 years when it matures. I am bored in wow, hate hate hate ffxiv, but discovered gw2 omg having a total blast love it.

Was never interested in it since it's survival/PVP focused. When they decided to add PVE I thought and, from what I have heard, would be tacked on and not feel natural. I don't have any interest in a game like that. It will be interesting to see how long they keep the players they have now. I'm willing to bet the player base is cut in half within a couple of months. If there is no way to turn off PVP and not be bothered with it, then they will lose the population even faster.
I hope this does well We need more western mmo's I just don't think this particular type will last very long.
I actually agree with you, the game is good, leveling journey is fun but i personally feel like the game is made to be idiot proof in a way that its very easy to get into (which is a good thing) but on the flipside this also means that the mob animation variety for instance is not really there, once you learn it you know it all for most of the mobs going forward and that makes it so it gets boring over time, especially once you hit that max level (which is a bad thing). You would expect more variety to kick in at that point, but its not really there for some reason, at least not at this point in time. So if one wants to play this at launch, great but keep in mind that once you hit that endgame you probably won't last long as the content is not there yet. I personally plan on leveling and then dropping the game for like a year or so and then come back to see if improvements have been made and what new content it has, if any
Am I missing something? Don't you learn npc mechanics that don't change in all video games?
End game content… The game just launched yesterday.
Im confused, nothing you said doesn't already exist in all the other mmos.
The crafting hooked me. Fishing is even fun but yeah…that's not going to carry the game.
