We have flying cars. They are called helicopters.
Same reason why allowing people to have guns is stupid
typical pessimistic european
Flying cars will be Drones that carry people.
Boris N. Yuriev and Alexei M. Cheremukhin already invented the flying car in the 1930's. We call them helicopters.
Okay fine, no flying cars, but what about……..Water cars????????
There’s a high chance in the future this video will be studied as: The difficulties of guessing the future. I believe that we’ll run out of steel before achieving anything cool.
Dude, just the 49 seconds of buzzing featured in this video, got me losing my mind. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah this would be a terrorists wet dream
People only see negativity. You will need an equivalent of a highway code. Whether you want to see where this technology will exist sooner or later, infact it already exists on paper…
I want everyone to remember this, I will make this possible in future. (22 June 2023)
A) Flying is way harder than driving and already hoards of people die on the streets. The whole system of flying routes and control tower coordination is insanely complicated.
B) We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. What people who want flying cars are thinking about, translates to the real world as everyone having a pilot's license and a personal helicopter to fly.
As with Mars colonies and AI, the fascination with flying cars is purely a function of Hollywood-style lazy futurism. Some of the problems noted here /would/ be mitigated if we had some BS anti-gravity hover technology, operating silently and powered by a tiny fusion reactor (e.g., "Mr. Fusion" from the end of Back to the Future). I mean, we see it in science fiction movies all the time!
But we don't have that; we only have special effects and vague dreams.
Not to mention the gas would probably be a lot more expensive, and that private jets are some of the most harmful and wasteful forms of travel, which I imagine flying cars would have something in common with.
Maybe not flying cars, however hovering cars wouldn't be much of a problem.
I learned that I don't have alotta foresight today.
I always thought "No. We as a collective aren't smart enough to make em."
Never did I think that something like the thumbnail would be a thing where I'd have a 3 story home and have that bitch be crushed because of a drunk flyer, even if they were created somehow.
Who says that flying cars needs to be high up in the air? They could keep them low on ground maybe provide a better alternative to the cars that we are using
Considering that even Top Gear didn't try this shit out, it has to be bad.
I both agree and disagree with this one. On a grand scale I agree, everything mentioned in the video shows why it's a stupid idea. However, I'm 100% certain we will see flying cars in practice: wealthy people, taxis, ambulance, transportation of goods, military. Despite being problematic, there is a potential demand for it.
Imagine having a seizure while driving in the air.
Imagine drunk flying.
Imagine kidnapping someone, how does law enforcement stop a vehicle mid air.
I agree with your video. However the FAA does not as they have approved a model A flying car with an MSRP of $300K. We have to officially recognize that we live in a world that is solely motivated by money. If the FAA have a flying f%$# about safety, they would NEVER approve this. They approved it however because they know that other countries are already looking for ways to do this very thing and we'll be damned if our country can't benefit financially by approving and selling these bad boys first. It's getting damn near time to build a time machine so we can go back to a more sane time when science fiction was still…fiction.
It would have to be a plane first, and required to uphold FAA certification and inspection schedules. As an automobile, its only practical to drive from a residence to an air strip, then converted into plane mode. Any fender bender would require an FAA safety inspection before allowed to fly, which could be cost prohibitive. Everything aircraft is double safe, like two separate ignition systems, specially certified starters and alternators, avionics, brakes, and so on. These parts can't be purchased at you local auto parts stores, nor picked from a salvage yard and flown. You can't pull to the side of the road, when something fails while flying. Gravity takes over and you end up parking nose down, either in a field or some residential building, in a burning pile of wreckage. If you want a more affordable option of flying, get an ultralight airplane or a gyrocopter. You could get one for $15k, fly for a few hours at 55knts, and take off/land nearly anywhere.
there would be so many 9/11's
But… But that new stylish Slovak flying car looks so cool…
