The sooner they are trained and ready to fly these 'NATO' standard aircraft, regardless of whether they are F-16's or MiG29's or the Eurofighter, the better, and they better have planes and ammo to ready to fly the moment they are 'ready' to take to the skies.
Training should have started before the war started – at least within the first few weeks. All those that were trained for combat could have also been receiving training to operate tanks, long range missile launchers etc and kept rotating as each group finishes their training and return to Ukraine, the next group and then the next, all of whom can help train those in Ukraine too and in wartime, you learn 'FAST'…

Ukraine doesn’t need tanks or fighter jets, it won’t make that big of difference. They need many more anti missile and anti aircraft systems to stop Russian attacks. And they need longer range missiles that can reach targets inside of Russia to strike vital military targets and transportation systems. It takes too long to properly train someone to fly a F-16 to it’s full potential. Sending undertrained pilots to fight against Russian pilots that have years of training is just stupid. The same is true with foreign MBTs. And then you also have to train support crews to maintain these jets and tanks. Most of the tanks will be either destroyed or abandoned before the year is up. And if jets are sent, most of those will also be destroyed by then.
Ukraine has done so well because they have been using hit and run attacks, not allowing Russia a target to retaliate against. Using drones and hand held anti-tank and anti-aircraft takes away Russia’s advantage of having more men and equipment. Ukraine cannot stand toe to toe with Russia and fight a traditional war, even with the military aid they have been getting. Instead, they need to continue to make it more trouble for Russia to fight, than to leave.
As a native of a colonized country allied to the West I wish NATO countries would hurry up give Ukraine the crucial weaponry they Urgently need to defend what's left of their country from the constant attacks.

It’s just a matter of time until Ukraine has the fighters and long range missiles necessary to drive out the Russians from Crimea.
The f16 can NOT operate under the actual conditions in Ukraine, even if they had the pilots, the mechanicians, logistics, etc. Gripen is the best option and from far a better platform. Ukraine doesn't need 200 aircraft in one month, they need two build a complete airforce from scratch and that will take longer time, butt for the moment AND HERE AND NOW, I'm sure 2 squadrons of Gripen will get the job done

Here's a feasible plan. Tomorrow morning the West, USA and NATO send Ukraine the munitions they promised to send to Ukraine, Maybe even bump it up to the quantity of munitions Ukraine needs. 500 tanks, (Leopard @ and M-1Abrahims) 300 F-16's 300 A-10's, 1000's of long range missiles and all the supporting equipment, maintenance and ammunition and logistical support needed to support the equipment and to put an end to Putin's BS and slaughter of Ukrainians? The USA alone can organize logistics, train and mobilize an army in short order when they decide to do it, Iraq and Kuwait for example. The USA could do the same for Ukraine. I DO NOT agree. US Fighter jets DO NOT belong in Ukraine so long as we send them long-range GPS-guided missiles. THE DILEMMA:
If Ukraine had kept the Nuclear stocks, about 600 detonations were preserved.
If Ukraine had kept these devices, Ukraine wouldn’t have asked help to the West. They would have used them, thus Russia had the incentive to use nuclear weapons without repercussions.
