Why Does Israel Matter to India

India and Israel share a unique partnership. It is both varied and comprehensive and is characterised by pragmatism and trust. It is transactional as well as strategic and has withstood the test of time and political transitions in both countries. it was much later in 1992 that India established a diplomatic relationship with Israel.
but There are several reasons for New Delhi’s interest in forging a stronger relationship with Tel Aviv against many odds, both at the diplomatic level as well as at home.
First and foremost, Israel has been a reliable partner on many fronts.
Stifling under various international regimes and sanctions, India has found in Israel a willing partner, especially during crises.
Israel has been forthcoming in supplying weapon platforms and weapons that India was prohibited from procuring in the international market.
During the 1999 Kargil conflict, for example, Israel was quick to respond to the Indian requirement for artillery munitions and other critical war stores. It is not surprising that Israel is today one of the biggest military suppliers to India.
Another key element which sustains this relationship is pragmatism. The relationship between India and Israel is founded on common sense rather than rigid ideals.
Although both countries gained their independence from the United Kingdom within months of each other, they found themselves headed in pointedly different directions for nearly four decades – India as a leader in the Non-Aligned Movement that maintained close relations to the Arab world and the Soviet Union; Israel which linked its future to close ties with the United States and Western Europe.

  2. Because Hinduism had its roots in Judaism… the cast system is similar to the 12 tribes and apart from the idol and cow worship (Egyptian origin), everything else is almost the same as Judaism..😏

  3. India has hindu majority represents hindu civilizations .But still the republic of India was made hostage by its Muslim population and held the govt in conducting it's foreign policy in India's National Interest.
Muslim ummah is more important for muslims than Indias Interest.
If a Hindu is killed neighbouring countries muslims in India don't care
But a Muslim killed far away who has no connection to them,
Muslims in India will do riots .
Harsh reality that's why Hindus shows affection to Jews as a reaction to this .
