  1. what model is this? I got a model 85 for $1, it has a broken side plate, I have a donor reel, so my next adventure is to make one out of two. I would have never thought of doing this hobby till I found your channel. I have been repairing one thing or another my entire career, it's great having your 20 + years experience, it certainly shortens the learning curve not starting from scratch, thanks for your numerous videos

  2. I have lost count of the line messes I have found on vintage reels I’ve purchased. Many times the line is under the spool and sometimes even inside the reel. It is usually easy to find and remedy though. — Chris

  3. Not that I ever had to…., but is there any way to separate the pimple shaped click knob on the outside of the side plate from the click ratchet on the inside ??? looks like in all my vintage Penns, they're press fit together and not serviceable, Thanks for showing what a mess mono can make !
