Babel has nothing to do with Satan, pure conjecture. They were building a gateway for transiting the cosmos.

After the flood, these water vapor belt was destroyed and the major constellations were dotted by small stars. The Tower of Babel was a planetarium which shows the original constellations as seen before the flood by holes on the roof. The sin of nimrod is that he declared himself as the promised messiah.
