THE ROYAL AIRFORCE
that’s why.
YT censorship is a disgrace. Disrespectful to those who gave their lives for freedoms, big tech is the new Gestapo
Never forget Squadron 303 of the RAF
I love ww1 ww2 documentaries but why do we need the music 😵💫 im not suggesting we listen to Snoop Doggy Dogg but come on is that the best we can do.
Many historians believe that Germany had no real intention of invading. The Air War was only to to put pressure on the UK to come to terms
It was just a game to force the jews leave for the newly occupied Palestine
My dad was involved in all this. He was a brilliant mathematician as is my son. Even today his war record is not available to us, his family. Ultra won the war in Europe and the Pacific.
Da BBC IS NOW ISLAM ☪️
I read William L Shirer's autobiography. Volume 2 covered his years as a radio correspondent for CBS in Berlin. The Germans in 1940 toured the foreign press around the channel ports to show how many barges they had prepared for Operation Sealion. Shirer, who was familiar with the area from his many years in France, wondered why what should have been a trip of minutes by car took hours. The he realized the barges from port to port had the same registration numbers. In his broadcast about what he saw, he compared the barges to certain American baseball players, a reference the German censors completely missed, but American audiences realized the players in question had kept the same uniform numbers when traded from team to team. The Germans had no where near enough transport for 20 divisions.
My dad was intelligence officer on the Loftenen Raid. He later lived in the mountains in Norway with the resistance and learned to speak Norwegian. He was on of the 20 officers sent from Afghanistan to England because of a shortage of officers with war experience. They knew all the dirty tricks from the Afghans. One of their first operations in Norway involved an ambush of 60 Germans on bicycles. They killed all of them.
enigma codes was decrypted.
huh, let me see: No areal dominance, no naval dominance, no logistics, no transports. No experience on naval landings on the scope required for a success.
Please stop blurring the images that display the human casualties of war. I don’t mind tapping ‘OK’ to proceed. It’s not a bother at all.
4 of my grandfathers brothers out of 11, him being the youngest but also a miner at 15, died in Africa and 2 of my great aucles died in the Ardens, thanks for mentioning new zealand in this doco, we are rather misrepresented and where subjected to tasks many other battalions where not, and special thanks to the Maori battalions that where not completely incorporated as citizens in the complex office of British law and its derogatory nature's.
WWII is the most interesting yet terrifying historical event in history(arguably).
Quote " the Germans couldn't advance as fast as the French retreated " unquote. Fact France the great capitulators and the great collaborators .
ahhh Royal Navy 🙂
Two reasons: No air dominance and no sea dominance over the invasion area.
Then came the Poles and Czechs and saved Britain!! 😂😂
The bad guys won WW2
The idea of a landing is a red herring. While Germany did not necessarily need to land forces, it DID need to defeat the UK, not just in England itself, but the uK also needed to be ejected from the Mediterranean as well. Germany needed to put its resources into destroying the UK's ability to wage war, not to 'conquer' it like say, France had been. The u-boats did attempt to blockade the uK of course, and did a lot of damage, but it wasnt enough. Then there was that whole letting 90% of the BEF get away……. Over the years I have heard many theories that AH had a 'soft spot' for the brits, or admired their racist and imperialistic policies and attitude in some ways. I dont know how true that is, but what is clear is how often the Germans seem to ignore the threat posed by the brits. How about Libya? It had enough oil to provide for both Germany AND Italy's needs, (who knew?), instead, AH regards Libya as a 'side show' and lets the DAK get taken prisoner instead of again, putting resources into defeating the brits. Then Germany goes off and attacks Russia of all powers…how'd that work out?
Англичане думают, что победили немцев😂😂😂😂
Put some more adds on please
this is on military channel weekly
Often forgotten is at that time the U.K. had a huge navy. Hitlers generals knew that any attempt to cross the channel the ships in Scapa flow would move into the channel and under cover of the Air Force would decimate the German troops in there barges. Also at that time the U.K. standing army saved from Dunkirk would have dispatched any airborne troops ,together with a population who hated the Nazis. So it’s easy to see why operation sea lion was cancelled .
Break through
a device called "Radar".
@7:12 That crystal meth look
Because the goal was never to defeat Britain, it was to defend Europe against communism. The compromised Brits just got in the way. The wrong side won WWII and we are all currently paying the price.
you'll only get jellied eel, bad weather and chicken tikka masala not even worth it.
Germany just wanted peace with the UK, not to invade or conquer her. The German peace offer of July 1940 is clear proof of this. If FDR hadn't guaranteed he would bring the USA into the European War the UK would have had to make peace. Which wasn't a bad thing at all because there were NO demands on her. No reparations, no occupation, no surrendering of the Royal Navy, no return of colonies, no nothing! Germany even offered to withdraw her troops from ALL conquered territories in western europe with the exception of the reconquered german areas lost after world war 1. There was NEVER any serious plan to invade Britain. Any suggestion that there was is just nonsense.
Prime Minister Churchill speaks about Whiskey being the true lifeline of the British Empire ! The Strength of Britain can be found in drinking Whiskey 🥃 Good Whiskey & not that European cheap stuff !
Hitler's obsession had always been the Soviet Union , and now that his armies had knocked France out of the war and had chased the British back across the channel , he supposed himself to have set up the conditions necessary to crush the Soviet Union . So why waste men and arms trying to subdue the stubborn British , when he could immediately fulfill his destiny in the east ?
There is one reason why we germans did not invade Britain. We did not have the capacity to do so. We lacked the transport capacity and the naval strenght to block the channel. We could not have used "little ships" to invade Britain cause the little ships could not transport heavy equipment and therefore an invasion was an illusionary plan.
Why do people still say that germany ever had a plan to invade GB? I mean every one who ever gave it a real look or read some biographies knows that seelion was just a distraction for Barbarossa. But i think especially for the USA it is important to paint germany bad or as expansive
They lost about 30% of their transport aircraft fleet (150 planes) in the fighting around The Hague in May 1940 and 25% of the 8000 German paratroopers employed were captured and shipped to Britain by the Dutch before the Dutch capitulation. This was a serious setback for any German plans for an airborne assault on the UK in the summer of 1940.
Probably something to do with the yanks. It allways is.
I don't understand the relevance of the title in relation to the content of this movie.

We shall party on the beaches
We shall drink on the landing grounds
We shall mumble in the fields
and in the streets
We shall drink in the hills
We shall never get sober
I love documentaries made like this, narrated, historical footage, no talking heads repeating what the narrator just said, no contemporary investigative “reality tv” interrupting the flow, just old fashion documentary, perfect.
Myself and the entire world are extremely saddened that Germany didn’t invade England during WW2 because the whole world today would be a thousand times better off had they done so. The English people, like almost all people of the world, are a totally amazing lot, extremely intelligent, wonderfully cheerful, awesomely funny, and both fearsomely courageous, yet caring and neighborly like no other, so her people are not the problem. It’s the ones who “RULE” that country,(those same act and believe it’s still an Empire) that make “our” world such a morbid and evil world. Their evil, occult, ruthlessness was spawned out of the dying evil Roman Empire (the hellish occult Vatican still remains) and its power and reign could have been cut short if Germany had crushed and took the island for its own. By leaving it to live on it allowed for the tentacles to once again spread, this time to America, where the evil and occult DC took the reigns, thus completing the pyramid of power for satan.. the Vatican represents the Religion, London represents the Financial, and DC is the Military. ALL 3 of these points of the pyramid, all sit on a small parcel of land that IS NOT a LEGAL PART of the country that they’re in!? Hence the laws of those countries DO NOT APPLY TO THEM!? Haven’t you wondered why Americans are sitting in a jail cell (for 1/6/20) in DC and most of them have not even been charged with a crime or even had a bail hearing? Because they are in DC and the constitution nor any state laws apply to them, THATS WHY. I don’t need to watch this. If Germany had taken it we wouldn’t be where we are today and if I had to guess, I’d say that they were told not to invade by the same people who have financed “BOTH SIDES OF EVERY WAR SINCE NAPOLEON,” and the wealthiest family since the Garden of Eden (in 2015 the AP wrote an article about their wealth exceeding 500 TRILLION DOLLARS, but I’m certain it’s MUCH HIGHER now) the ROTHSCHILDS. Yeah, THAT family could have even told mustache man what to do and he’d have had to listen. WTFU they’re just about to have ANOTHER reset and we’re ALL in their crosshairs. It’s a club and me and you ain’t in it!
While the British army WAS short on Equipment, the Weremacht was COMPLETELY unsuited to a channel crossing.
On top to that the Royal Navy was a superpower, AND the RAF was well prepared with it's fleet of Hurricanes and the newer spitfires, AND it's vastly superior command and control system, and of course the RADAR chain home system.
The chances of Germany even launching an invasion were slim and there was no real chance of success.
The allies were well aware of Germany's lack of amphibious equipment, and if Germany were to attempt a crossing Britain had the forces in its navy and airforce to stop any attempt.
Because they didn't have enough dinghies and our gov't didn't help them.
Answer: Because they wanted air superiority and didn't get it.
